As Cadillac lovers, the two of us are honored to present this
gorgeous 1960 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz convertible, formerly
owned by a dear friend and Cadillac & LaSalle Club Member.
He bought it back in 1984 and being a well-respected classic car
restorer, he restored this car with his heart and soul.
Unfortunately, Jim is no longer with us so we can't ask him to
provide a plethora of details on the car's history or the work he
did on this car and when. However, you can see Jim and his passion
for this car in this video interview on My Car Story. Copy and

What we can tell you is that Jim absolutely loved this car! He
chose this non-factory color because it looks amazing on this body
style. Despite the fact that Cadillac would not have done it at the
factory, he chose to paint the area in between the Biarritz trim in
a beautiful pearlescent cream color, to accentuate the 9-foot long
rear quarter panels. Everything he did to this car, he did because
that's what he wanted. As you can see, the restoration was not a
frame-off, because Jim never wanted to be afraid to drive his car.
He drove it everywhere and enjoyed the heck out of it! . You could
routinely find him at shows all over the area and many times you'd
see him describing the car and its features to attendees young and
old. Mechanically this car was maintained impeccably so that it was
always ready for a drive. However, the A/C system will need to be
finished. There is a new compressor on the car but it has no belt
and no Freon. But the engine runs beautifully, the trans shifts
smoothly, and with just a few pumps, she fires up quickly and
easily.
If you know a little about the Eldorado Biarritz, you know that
they only made 1285 of these, (of which only 200-250 exist today,
according to the Cadillac-LaSalle Club). They are
ultra-collectible, being that they are the epitome of quality,
luxury, and elegance. This example is one of only 97 built with
bucket seats. It was also optioned with A/C, Autronic Eye, and air
ride suspension, (although the components have been removed and it
is now riding on springs). This automobile is long, sleek,
artistic, and visually stunning. It was driven and enjoyed, as
these classic beauties should be (in my humble opinion).
