For Sale: 1969 Oldsmobile 442 in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

It's a body off the frame, rotisserie restored, numbers matching 442 with amazing factory colors. Only 1,161 4-speeds were built total, only a handful were in convertibles. It's had the Same owner the last 17 years. The restoration is very fresh looking, hardly any miles.

EXTERIOR: It is a gorgeous looker. The body is straight, fits nicely, no rust or damage. It has a ram air hood added which really looks great. It's repainted it's original code 51 Twilight Blue. The metal flake is laid out evenly, the clear coat is very glossy. The hhite stripes are painted on the scoops. Every single piece of exterior chrome is either new or restored. Every piece of stainless is straightened and polished or new. The new SS-1 chrome wheels with reproduction Good Year redlines look amazing on the car. The door jambs are painted real slick, all new weatherstrips and sill plates. The windshield was replaced. The convertible top frame was repainted, and has new weather strips. New pads and black top, it has a glass window.

INTERIOR: It is immaculate inside this car. New carpet down on the floor and blue GM seatbelts look new. The center console is restored like new. The correct 4-speed shifter says 442 right on the chrome handle. The seats have been recushioned and reupholstered. Door panels are new including the armrests, window cranks and handles. The dash area is all restored. It has rally gauges and the tik tok tachometer. Even if you look up under the dash everything is pristine. Interior lights work.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The #s matching 400 engine was completely rebuilt by Fast Times. It was decked, bored, new forged pistons, hotter cam, rebuilt heads, new valves. The entire compartment is restored to show condition. Every component looks factory new. It has correct hoses, clamps, stickers and paint markings.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: No rust, clean metal was neatly spatter painted. Correct 2 piece felt trunk mat. Restored original jack. New well liner, weatherstrip and stickers. It has a trunk light and new wiring harness.

UNDERSIDE: The body was removed from the frame and put on a rotisserie so the bottom could be made as beautiful as the top. The frame was stripped and then powder coated. The entire steering and suspension system has been completely rebuilt and detailed. The entire brake system has been rebuilt and detailed. The fuel system is new including the tank, sending unit, straps and lines. The Muncie trans is an M-21. It has been rebuilt. In back is a rebuilt rear end with 3.91 posi gears. The exhaust is a factory correct Gardner system with trumpet tips going out through the bumper. It is concourse detailed with the correct tags and paint markings like it left the factory. The floors are smooth clean metal painted semi gloss black.

Not only is this a gorgeous 442 but it's also rare, desirable and restored from the bottom up. Sounds like a winner to me!
