Chassis #15631 is a USA-spec car originally delivered to Modern Classic Motors in Reno. It has been recorded on several vintage Ferrari sites and is considered to be a very solid example; the 23K miles reputed to be accurate. Originally Nocciola Metallizato (Hazelnut), it has been Rosso Rubino for decades. Tan interior leather is soft with little wear and the dash covering is excellent. Fitted with chrome Borrani wheels and complete with owner’s book and both tool sets—the tire-changing kit in its bag and the briefcase-style hand tool set—all tools are original & excellent.
The engine runs strong and quiet—no cam chain noise—and has shown no overheating tendencies when running hard up our mountain passes! Proper oil pressure & temps, too, it is a very nice-driving example. Shifts well with good synchos and the rear diff & limited slip are quiet. Original-style Ansa exhaust is solid and the underside of the car is very clean, with no corrosion or past damage evident. Recently out of long-term ownership & storage.
Recent new starter and brake work, battery & more; excellent paint and very straight body panels & gaps. Includes a set of factory shop manuals and some spares. This is a very solid, original car but could use some final fettling: currently running rich at our altitude, probably fine at sea level. Clutch is near end of life, but doesn’t chatter or slip. A/C converted to R134A cools, but has ducting issue—cold air going in the glove box!
