6,668 limited editions were built from 1978-1980 . This 80 MGB Is
powered by a 1798cc 4-cylinder engine backed by 4-speed manual
transmission, Zenith Stromberg carburetor. Front power disc brakes
, 5 spoke 14 alloy wheels, black exterior with silver stripe
package, front lower chin spoiler, black convertible top with boot
and tonneau cover, black interior customized with tan seats and
door panels , limited edition dash plaque, 3 spoke Mountney wood
grain steering wheel, upgraded AM/FM/CD radio, receipts and
maintenance records included. Well cared for and a fun weekend
cruiser at a great price!!! Automotive history: The MG MGB Limited
Edition was a marketing endeavor between B-L and the U.S.
distributorship in Leonia, NJ to boost slipping sales in the North
American Market. The production period of the North American
version Le was 1979-1980. All North American dealers could install
the kit but only on black cars. There were 6,668 produced in the
two years of production. The ironic thing about the LE kit is that
its partially made up of parts manufactured in the U.S. The front
air dam and luggage rack were made in the U.S. and then shipped to
England for packing into kit that was then shipped back to U.S.
with the cars selected to be LE s, which were then installed by the
selling dealer. This is why some LE s, do not have luggage
