This 1949 Buick Super Sedanette is a super cool, stock example with
great history and paperwork. In 1949, the Super was the mid-level
model for Buick but shared many characteristics with the
top-of-the-line Roadmasters. Both the Supers and Roadmasters shared
the new GM C-body with the Supers sitting on a shorter 121 inch
wheelbase. The '49 Super also shared the new for 1949 "Venti-Ports"
on the front fenders and were carried forward for a number of years
on Buicks. The "Super" script on the lower front fenders was
carried forward from the previous year model as well. New in 1949
was a new taillight design that was incorporated into the rear
fender as well. Of course, one of the most desirable and innovative
body types for a '49 Buick is the "Sedanet" that has a swooping
"fastback" look from the side and rear. This particular '49 Super
Sedanet comes to us from a large private collection where it spent
the past 30+ years. Under the hood is a smooth running 248 Cubic
Inch Inline 8 Cylinder engine paired with a single 2 barrel
carburetor that pushed out 115 horsepower when new. Driving this
'49 Buick Sedanette is a breeze since the 248 Straight 8 is hooked
up to the optional Dynaflow Automatic transmission. The chrome and
brightwork around the exterior of this Buick has a fantastic look.
This Super Sedanette sits on 4 wide whitewall bias-ply tires with
full Buick wheel covers that give the car a truly classic look. The
exterior has been repainted in a beautiful black paint that has a
great shine. The grey striped broadcloth bench seat interior
appears to be stock. The dash, door panels, and steering wheel all
appear to be in their stock configuration as well. The dash is
equipped with a 110 MPH speedometer, amp gauge, temperature gauge,
oil pressure gauge, and fuel gauge, as well as a push-button radio
and clock. The trunk is impressively roomy and has been beautifully
detailed. Whether you're an avid Buick collector or you're looking
for your very first classic car, this 1949 Buick Super Sedanet
would be an excellent choice. Give us a call today!
