This 1982 Chevrolet C10 Silverado is a factory diesel pickup, and
so that makes it instantly desirable. And you'll also notice the
original/survivor style everywhere from the paint to the loaded A/C
interior. That's when you realize the classic appeal here goes well
beyond the affordable price.
Chevrolet started offering diesel C10s in 1982. It would be a
popular kind of motor that would see service in some big machines,
but we'll get to more on that in a second. For now, take a moment
to understand how significant that makes this truck. It was the
debut year, and while the diesel would find its way in long bed and
heavy-duty machines, a sporty-looking shortbed is likely quite
rare. So it's great to have it in such original condition. The
Mahogany Metallic paint shows the right signs of being the factory
application. It's not a perfect presentation, but it is far from a
workhorse. Instead, it just has that right hint of age that comes
from a well-respected life thus far. And the package is clean and
complete, right down to details like the premium Silverado side
trim and special diesel hood ornament.
The records show this is a three-owner truck with the first one
being long-term (20 years.) That's how you can get such a respected
look both inside and out. The interior has a highly original
presentation where if anything was replaced along the way it was
done with the correct components. So you have a soft velour seat,
matching door panels, and smooth dash. And as a premium Silverado,
this is loaded with the best features, like power windows, power
locks, the Delco AM/FM radio, and cold-blowing factory air
conditioning. And the classic dual-spoke steering wheel is on a
tilt column to give you a good view of the wraparound gauge
panel.
The 6.2-liter diesel motor is a famous powerhouse for more than
just GM fans. This motor would find its way into some serious
off-road machines, like the original Humvee. Oh yeah! So we're not
necessarily saying you should be pulling out stumps with this
classic Chevy, but it certainly has the impressive stats to be a
cool way to tow your toys. The motor is believed to be the original
powerhouse, and the odometer is suspected of showing the full
original mileage (though they are undocumented.) Of course, what
really counts is the hardy nature this one feels every time you
fire it up. The diesel will never be a speed demon, but it does
have some great long-haul features, like dual fuel tanks, cruise
control, and a four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive.
Plus, power steering, power brakes, and front discs are great for
journeys near or far.
Complete with owner's manual, this is a unique and preserved
classic that also can still get down to real pickup duty. That
makes for an awesome classic truck that's far more than just a
weekend friend. Call today!!!
