Rare! Big 425 motor with a factory 4-speed and posi rear.
Documented with build sheet and Protect-o-plate. Less than 500
miles since a professional body off frame restoration. This car was
restored by a serious car collector for himself, not for resale. He
loves big cars and 4-speed is an absolute must. It's time to thin
down his herd, this is one of three we acquired from him.
EXTERIOR: The body is pristine, it's been professionally restored.
Every panel is straight as a rifle barrel. The panels line up
square and flush. Zero signs of rust or damage. Repained original
Mojave mist. The metal flake is laid out evenly and the clear coat
is polished smooth like glass. Up front the bumper was recromed.
The headlight bezels and grill are original and been cleaned up
nicely. It has correct T-3 headlamps. All the stainless trim was
removed, straightened and professionally polished. The mirrors and
door handles look new. In back the bumper and the tail panel have
been restored. The jambs are painted slick, new weatherstrips and
sill plates. Very rare deluxe aluminum wheel covers with spinners.
They bolt to a special steel rim, they're in excellent shape. Very
cool factory exhaust outlets right through the trim on the quarter
panels.
INTERIOR: Check it outstanding bucket seats with a console in
between and a 4-speed sticking out of it! It is completely restored
which was no small feat. It's not like a Mustang where you can buy
an entire kit for $400. The upholstery was duplicated to the
original. It was all hand made by a professional. New cushions, no
wrinkles. New carpet with the very hard to find sewn in mats. It
also has a beautifully restored factory console, the correct chrome
shifter with reverse lockout and a factory tachometer. The dash
area is excellent. No cracks in the dash pad, the trim, bezels,
knobs, steering wheel look mint. The door panels have brushed
stainless trim and it looks mint. The door panels had to be custom
upholstered as well. The headliner and visors are excellent. It has
deluxe seat belts in front. The interior lights work.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The biggest motor Oldsmobile offered and it was
only available in this car and the Jet Star. It's a 425- 375
horsepower. It even calls out "ultra high compression" right across
the air cleaner. It's been completely rebuilt. It's all stock-
manifolds, valve covers, air cleaner etc. It features power
steering and power brakes. Detailed to original specs right down to
reproduction GM hoses, clamps, a tartop battery topper and even
dated sparkplug wires. The metal surfaces are clean and painted
satin black. It still has the glass washer fluid bottle.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: This giant trunk compartment is all solid metal
painted the same color as the car. It has reproduction liner kit
including the plaid mats and matching side panels. Brand new tire
on a restored rim for a spare. Restored jack assembly. New
weatherstrip. It has a trunk light and power trunk release.
UNDERSIDE: The body was removed from the frame and the underside is
rebuilt and detailed like new. The entire suspension system has
been rebuilt front to back. Replaced shocks, bushings, steering
components etc. The brake system was completely rebuilt. New brake
hoses and brake lines, e-brake assembly is all hooked up. The
exhaust has been replaced with a correct system and it exits out
through the lower quarter panels. Fuel system was restored. New
sending unit and fuel lines. Bottom of the motor is spotless,
starter is rebuilt. It has a correct Muncie 4-speed trans. The
linkage is restored. It has it's original posi rear end. The floors
are clean metal painted satin black. The body bushings were
replaced.
This car is cooler than it first appears. The big motor, 4-speed
and posi are cool. The exhaust coming out through the quarters is
real cool and rare. The cool wheels are also rare. This one is a
high quality car from a serious collector. Don't miss this
opportunity!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure
your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do
a walk around video that explains the car's condition in
detail.
