Looking for a car with stunning and elegant pre-World War II design
but upgraded with modern conveniences? This 1930 Hudson Great Eight
Restomod may fit the bill perfectly! Dressed in a gorgeous
red-over-cream exterior, the car?s paint and trim are in overall
excellent condition. There?s a red roof, complete with landau roof
kit. The body is straight, the chrome bumpers are in very good
shape and attach tightly to the body, however, the driver?s side
windshield wiper is inoperable. Perched above the front bumper are
a pair of fog lights while there are a pair of cowl lights further
back. Out back is a red trunk mounted atop a luggage rack and the
engine bay is extremely tidy. This classic rolls on all-season
radials, size 225/75R15 at all four corners and two side-mounted
spares, sized 205/75R15, all mounted on wire wheels. The tires and
wheels are all in very good order. Other modifications include a
front end from a Jaguar XJS. Under the hood is an upgraded
Chevrolet 350 CID small-block V-8 engine with an electric cooling
fan and an aluminum radiator. It breathes via dual exhausts. The
engine is mated to a Turbo Hydramatic 350 three-speed automatic
transmission and a 10-bolt rear end. Driver convenience features
include vintage air-conditioning, power steering, power brakes with
discs in front and tilt steering column. Inside, a red, cream and
wooden interior greets the driver. The front and rear bench seats
are upholstered in custom tan leather and look fantastic. There?s
red carpeting, a tan headliner and an aftermarket, four-spoke
steering wheel. The wood on the wheel echoes the wood found on the
instrument panel. The car uses a General Motors steering column
from the 1980s, complete with ignition switch, column-mounted shift
lever, turn signal and hazard light switch plus the column tilts.
The dash and inner door panels are all in very good order but the
fog lights are inoperable. Anchored overhead near the headliner is
a Pioneer AM/FM stereo with CD player. Hudson had a new idea for
1930, but it picked the wrong time to execute it, during the Great
Economic Depression. For years, the company had churned out
mid-sized economy models for budget-minded customers but in 1930,
the Great Eight debuted, powered by a new inline eight-cylinder
engine. Hudson went on to merge with Nash-Kelvinator in 1954 to
form the American Motors Corporation. Documentation includes copies
of invoices for parts, maintenance and repairs. VIN:
