Vehicle Description
This 1979 Chevrolet Corvette is a distinct rare paint that shows
all the right signs of being original. In fact, the originality
appears to extend from the interior to the numbers-matching V8. It
all makes for a distinctive true classic that's also offered for an
affordable price.
Code 28 Corvette Light Blue (Frost Blue) is a great factory-correct
color. It was only offered for a few years, and it was one of the
lower batch orders, and there were only about 3,200 made in '79. So
it's quite special to find an example that shows all the right
signs of being the original factory application. It has the right
mix of aged-in style where you get to have the survivor
conversation, and it remains smooth to the touch so that you have
an overall look and feel of preserved quality. The original glass
T-tops, bright Rally wheels, and overall sleekness of these later
C3s all seem to come together here to be the right mix of the icon
you know while still having the right distinctness to not get lost
in any crowd.
The Oyster white interior continues the car light/bright
presentation and its original style. So while this has the right
look of aged-in style, you'll also appreciate how this is complete,
right down to the working dome light and the power window switches.
You have comfortable leather seats that fold flat to give you good
access to the rear section for stowing the T-tops or just tossing
in a weekend's worth of luggage. That's good because this was built
to be a road trip machine. After all, while the interior is a nice
white, the black carpeting is there to make sure you don't show
dusty shoes. And the AM/FM/CD stereo with SD and aux input means
better driving music. The three-spoke sports steering wheel feels
grippy in your hands, It's on a tilt/telescopic steering column to
give you a good view to the large speedo and tach. Plus, we love
these C3s for giving you the full auxiliary gauge package placed
centrally at eye level.
Under the hood is the numbers-matching 350 cubic-inch L48 V8. Like
the rest of the car, it has plenty of originality, but there's also
the addition of supporting components such as the electric ignition
and newer alternator. We even like the added touch of flair in
places like the Mickey Thompson finned valve covers and quad
exhaust tips. The V8 remains a solid runner, and that makes for a
good cruiser with the smooth-shifting three-speed automatic
transmission. There's also a fully independent sports suspension,
power steering, four-wheel power disc brakes, and a good set of
wide BF Goodrich T/As.
Originality, distinction, and iconic style come together on this C3
Corvette. So at a price like this, you know you need to hurry on
this deal. Call today!!!
