This 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle likes to be a premium Malibu in the
details everywhere from the body trim to the A/C interior. But it's
also not hard to see its Super Sport style appeal when there's
plenty of big block power under the hood, too.
This wants you to know it's a premium Malibu. It keeps the correct
grille, and features like the shine of the bumpers show off a
little more upper-class style. And silver is a timeless color,
especially when it's part of an update later in life. But that
might not be what you first see on this coupe. A working cowl
induction hood, hood pins, Rally wheels, and large dual exhaust
tips are all part of what instantly makes this one look like a
Super Sport. And when you paint dual racing stripes on the top,
it's pure SS cool.
The black interior reminds you of the premium Malibu features. You
have newer door panels with correct insignia trim, and the rear
seat has been done to match. The front ones are the more desirable
low-back buckets. This was built to be comfortable with an AM/FM/CD
stereo with Aux input and Bluetooth. Plus, it's easy to enjoy the
full breezes of this pillarless hardtop when it's supplemented by
cold-blowing R134a air conditioning. There are also little details,
like the SS steering wheel and cleanly installed auxiliary readouts
under the dash that also tell you this is a performance
machine.
Under the hood is the big block power that made these Chevelles
famous. The 454 cubic-inch V8 upgrade is presented in a tidy engine
bay so that you can really see the details like the bold orange
block and the gasket that seals the air grabber to the true cowl
induction hood. Plus, it has extra power with a Holley Street
Warrior four-barrel carburetor w/electric choke and an Edelbrock
Performer intake, and long tube headers feeding the dual exhaust.
It's a strong-running motor that provides plenty of power, so it's
nicely paired with the stout and smooth TH400 three-speed automatic
transmission. This feeds a Positraction rear end with a rear sway
bar for confident take-offs. It all makes for the kind of classic
you'll want to cruise all day long. That's why it also has nice
driving features like power steering, power brakes, front discs,
and wide Cooper Cobra tires.
This has the look, the features, and the big block rumble you want
in a Chevelle Malibu. So don't let this deal slip away. Call
