Vehicle Description
We just acquired this real 1969 Chevelle SS396 from the friend of
the longtime owner and builder who passed a few years ago. We were
told that this car was a L78 (396/375) car but upon further
inspection we believe that NOT to be true however in our
professional opinion it is a real SS396 Chevelle ! CHECK IT OUT !!
This car is an older restoration with a super straight, solid and
clean body that is mostly original including the floors, trunk &
frame. It was painted in "Tuxedo Black" in lacquer and overall
looks really good. The sides (fenders ,doors, 1/4's) are beautiful,
straight, slick and smooth with a show car shine however the top
sides, (hood, roof & deck lid) have multiple spider cracks
throughout the paint. It still has a great shine but nevertheless
they are there. It also has very nice chrome, trim, weather
stripping and glass and a beautiful black bench seat interior which
is in "like new" condition including the seats, carpets, door
panels, headliner and dash. It is VERY-VERY NICE !! Power comes
from a super healthy running/sounding 454 c.i. big block engine .
We are not 100% sure about it's internals but i can tell you that
it hits hard as nails and runs super strong ! It does have
rectangle port heads, an aluminum intake with a 750 Holley carb
with big tube headers with flow master dual exhaust. It is backed
up by a crisp shifting TH-400 automatic transmission with a 2500
rpm stall convertor and a "JK" code 12 bolt posi rear with 3:55
gears. This rear was only factory installed in a 375h.p. L78 1969
Chevelle and it is dated correct for this car which is probably why
this car was believed to be a real L78 car. Other features include
power steering, power disc brakes, new 15x7 magnesium 5 spoke SS
wheels with B.F.G. tires and new steering and suspension too. This
1969 SS396 Chevelle is an excellent "driver quality" car that runs,
rides & drives really nice and even with it's paint imperfections
still looks really good too. DON'T MISS IT !!
