Here's a magnificent, recently built, all-steel 1938 Studebaker Commander Coupe now available from the MAXmotive Pittsburgh Showroom. Resplendent in the perfect hue, Corvette Magnetic Red, with a tan Ultra-Leather interior, this '38 exudes elegance. It was completed in 2014 with restored stainless trim, re-plated chrome, and gray smoked windows. The 350 engine was balanced, and fitted with 10.5:1 Speed-Pro pistons. The 2.02 high performance heads were pocket ported and treated to a 3-angle valve job. The Turbo 350 automatic transmission was rebuilt with a shift kit and a high stall converter, and in back there's an 8� Mopar differential with 3.31 gears. A smooth ride and easy handling come courtesy of a Mustang II front end with rack & pinion steering, and tubular upper and lower control arms. Chassis Engineering provided their rear spring kit. Every detail has been addressed with careful attention. Inside ultra soft Ultra Leather upholstery offers high-end appearance and comfort along with Wilton wool carpeting. The cabin is air conditioned yet the Studebaker look is preserved with fully restored factory gauges including the clock. Touch points include a Lecarra banjo wood steering wheel and Lokar floor shifter. Even the trunk is upholstered to match the interior plus a custom embroidered Studebaker logo.
