Vehicle Description
This 1968 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser has that cool classic style you
love, and it turns it up a notch with off-road ready exterior
features, useful upgrades, and an overall attitude that comes from
a convertible 4x4 that's ready for anything.
The copper color upgrade on this FJ40 just seems right. After all,
these 4x4s have a globetrotter reputation, and so it should look
like it got coated while running through a jungle copper mine. And
it all seems to fit with a serious rugged attitude. You see it in
the lifted stance, flared fenders, diamond plate rockers, diamond
plate rear corners, steel side steps, whip antenna, and a full-size
spare. The full doors are done in gray, and it goes well with the
apocalypse-ready front bumper. You've got a 10,000 lbs winch,
tubular steel guards, tow hooks, LED lights, and Super 4x4
spotlights all leading the way.
This is a true choose your own adventure vehicle, and so you have
the convertible top and removable full metal doors to decide how
much you want to be open to the world. The front seats are upgraded
to modern leather buckets that offer plenty of individual comfort.
Plus, the custom roll cage and full harness add safety. It's built
for an outdoor lifestyle, and so you have full liner paint on the
floor. You also have cargo nets for the rear cargo area and a
high-lift off-road jack. The center console is even a lockbox that
contains your AM/FM/CD/iPod stereo. There are nice classic
features, like the gauges and thin/grippy steering wheel. These are
supplemented by an auxiliary gauge package, including a handy
column-mounted tach.
Toyota's hardy and torque-filled 3.9-liter inline-six is the
backbone of the Land Cruiser's tough-as-nails reputation. This one
looks very vintage and honest, and it still knows how to fire up
with gusto. The four-speed manual transmission gives you full
control over this go-anywhere machine, and the power steering gives
this a confident feeling on the road. The upgraded Ulta 15-wheels
have Chaparral M/T tires with a deep tread. They work with the
Bilstein shocks and two-speed 4x4 transfer case to remind you why
this was the choice for so many explorers. There's even a
four-wheel power disc brake upgrade that's welcomed for all
conditions.
