The Starliner was only produced 2 years, it was the sporty fastback
version of the Galaxie. This is a Z code, ordered new with the big
390-300 hp motor. Power steering and upgraded power disc brakes
really make it nice to drive.
EXTERIOR: Really sharp looking, it has the fastback roof line,
small tail fins and big tires. The body is exceptionally nice,
laser beam straight from every angle. The body gaps are square and
flush. I did not find any dents, blisters or cracks. The Grabber
yellow paint is polished smooth like glass. In front the bumper is
recromed, the grill looks like it's real nice original. All the
stainless trim around the windows and down the sides are buffed out
like chrome. In back the bumper is rechromed, tail panel is new.
New windshield, the glass is tinted. Jambs are painted real slick,
bottom of the doors are clean. Weatherstrips and sill plates were
replaced. It rolls on Torque Thrust wheels with meaty tires.
INTERIOR: It has a sporty interior with bucket seats and console.
New carpet on the floor. The seats are reupholstered and has the
chrome piping and medallions. The headliner was replaced, it has
cool little stars embossed in it. New visor's. The door panels were
replaced. The metal inside the car is painted smooth, gloss black.
All the trim and knobs are in nice shape. It has a stereo and
equalizer very neatly installed in the console. Aftermarket oil and
temperature gauges are mounted below the dash.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has a healthy 390 big block motor. 300 hp
was stock, this one has more than that. It has a hotter cam, a
factory aluminum intake, dual feed Holley carb and Hooker headers.
It's dressed up with chrome valve covers and air cleaner. New power
steering pump. It also has power brakes with upgraded dual
reservoir master The fender wells and core support are smooth satin
black, the metal firewall, jamb and under the hood are gloss
yellow.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Big solid trunk compartment painted yellow. It
has a plaid mat and cardboard filler panels on the sides. It also
has a space saver tire and jack assembly. New weather strip.
UNDERSIDE: Overall the bottom of this car looks solid and proper.
The components are clean, parts were replaced as needed. It has a
dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers that sounds great. It is
upgraded with disc brakes in front, e-brake assembly is hooked up.
The bottom of the motor is clean. It has a Cruise-o-matic
transmission and 3.00 rear end.
This is a cool car, Ford's version of the Chevy bubble top. I'm in
the business and never see these. Early 1960s car with some
muscle!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure
your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do
a walk around video that explains the car's condition in
detail.
**These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a
particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car.
Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the
showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you
