magazine ad headline The ad copy continued: L is for Luxury, T is
for Touring. Type LT is for those who want a little more Camaro
than the basic Sport Coupe. Yes, everything mentioned is standard
equipment with Camaro Type LT. The LT launch advertisement went on
to list the more stock features offered by the then-new model:
Choice of 5 luxury interiors, 3 cloth, 2 all-vinyl; variable-ratio
power steering (LT insignia; 14x7 rally wheels (white stripe tires
available); twin sport mirrors, driver's remote controlled; front
disc brakes, finned rear drum brakes; special LT instrumentation,
tachometer, ammeter, temperature gauge, electric clock; LT engine,
our Turbo-Fire 350-2 V8. Offered here is a 1973 Chevrolet Camaro LT
in red-and-black over black. This is a fully refreshed, re-powered,
and upgraded California car. Its 502-cubic-inch big block V8 offers
a great deal more in the power department than Chevrolet included
as standard on the original model, or even on its available-options
list. The Camaro's odometer shows 52,952 miles, or just over a very
conservative 1,100 miles per-year on average since new. The
outstanding condition of the car and the impressive, professional
work that brought it to its one-of-a-kind level makes for a
standout presentation and a compelling purchase opportunity. The
exterior red, non-metallic paint has been professionally applied
and properly covers door jambs and the appropriate interior
surfaces in the engine bay and trunk. The finish is uniformly
glossy and free of flaws. (To best assess the quality of the paint
and chrome finish, be sure to view the close-up photographs of the
car in the accompanying gallery.) The black Z28-style stripes
nicely emphasize the cowl-induction hood, impressive rear spoiler,
and the racing-style side-mirror caps. Factory badging-including
the Camaro hood emblem, LT emblem on the driver's side of the front
grille, Camaro script and the added 502 front-fender badges (the
latter denoting the new powerplant), Camaro LT emblems on the
sailplane and rear fascia-is all in place. The front spoiler and
lower body-side panels are black. Cabin glass and all lighting
lenses are clear and free of cracks or other damage. Chrome trim is
well preserved with the door handles showing some expected patina
from age and use. Polished American Racing® 5-spoke, 15-inch wheels
(with platinum-finish spokes) are mounted with BFGoodrich® Radial
T/A 235/60, M+S-rated, raised-white-letter performance tires. The
Camaro's stock black interior retains its classic good looks and
exceptionally well cared-for appearance. The textured black vinyl
upholstery, on the forward-folding front buckets and rear,
2-position bench (with fabric inserts), is free of flaws or even
much evidence of use. Cabin floors are covered in fresh black
carpeting. The Camaro is equipped with power brakes and power
steering. Door trim is a combination of soft and hard black
surfaces with woodgrain trim; roll-up windows are stock. Lower door
sills are free of wear. The black, 4-spoke, stock steering wheel
features an original Type LT emblem. Full stock LT instrumentation
is arrayed across the burled-woodgrain-trimmed dash (augmented with
a SunPro® oil pressure gauge added below the dash), with slide-lev
