like (this Tacoma) if you're looking for a capable pickup larger
than a Ford Ranger, but not as massive as a Dodge Ram KBB Review
The KBB review continued: The Tacoma may be Toyota's smallest
pickup, but it has long since left the realm of the compact
courier. Fresh from a complete makeover last year, the Tacoma now
dwarfs the Ford Ranger and Chevrolet Colorado in every area that
counts. Its closest competitors are now the Dodge Dakota and Nissan
Frontier and, while worthy opponents, neither can touch the
Tacoma's long history of reliability and high resale value. Wrapped
in muscular new sheet metal and touting the most powerful V6 engine
ever to grace a small Toyota, the Tacoma has much to offer those
who take their pickup trucks seriously. When it comes to
reliability in this segment, many organizations rank it at the top
of its class. Offered here is a 2007 Toyota Tacoma DoubleCab
Pre-Runner in white-over-black. This Texas, one-owner truck has
benefitted from well-executed professional upgrades to what was
already an excellent-condition, very capable 4WD vehicle. The
truck's odometer currently shows 22,631 miles, or fewer than 1,650
miles per-year on average since new. This Pre-Runner-built Taco is
recently serviced and fully off-road-competition-ready. The
Tacoma's exterior white paint remains in virtually original
condition, a direct result of owner care and low mileage. (To best
assess the quality of the paint finish, be sure to view the
close-up photographs of the car in the accompanying gallery.) The
four-door body is free of even minor sheet-metal damage; a double
pinstripe accents the cabin body. Extensive exterior modifications
include off-road bumpers front and rear, cargo-wall-top lockable
tool boxes finished in diamond-plate steel (reflective tape added
for safety), an additional large RaceWorks® tool-and-equipment box
mounted to the cargo floor, roof-mounted cargo-area lighting,
competition-ready skid plate, auxiliary lighting (mounted to the
front brush guard), a full-rooftop cargo-and-equipment carrier
(with additional night-into-day lighting mounted), and black
fiberglass flares added to the modified rear fenders. The truck's
cargo-box interior (and rear tubular bumper) are painted black.
Removable logos for equipment- and build-shops are applied on the
rear fenders. Satin-black-painted, 17-inch Method® Race Wheels are
mounted with Toyo® M/T Open Country 35x12.50 off-road tires. The
truck's stock interior has been extensively modified for added
safety, navigation, and off-road operation. Stock door panels,
console, and gray cabin carpeting (under all-weather rubber floor
mats for all four positions) remain. Four MasterCraft® racing
bucket seats in black replace the original seats. Sparco® 4-point
safety harnesses in blue are mounted for each occupant. A full,
race-ready, tubular-steel, cross-braced, padded roll cage is in
place and provides mounting points for the front shoulder
restraints. A Momo® steering wheel in black (with yellow
top-dead-center indicator) frames a stock dashboard heavily
modified with off-roading controls added acros
