Vehicle Description

1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1 SportsRoof - Saddle Bronze Metallic - 302 V8 - C4 Automatic Transmission - Marti Report (Please note: If you happen to be viewing this 1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1 on a website other than our Garage Kept Motors site, it's possible that you've only seen some of our many photographs of the car due to third-party website limitations. To be sure you access all the more than 175 photographs, as well as a short start-up and walk-around video, please go to our main website: Garage Kept Motors.) A dramatic fastback profile characterized the... SportsRoof Mustangs. €" Hemmings Muscle Car Profile Hemmings went on: The... Mach 1 treated its buyer to a host of popular-for-the-era upgrades, such as an impact-resistant molded micellar urethane foam body-colored coating for the front bumper, sport-driving-lamps-equipped honeycomb-pattern grille... honeycomb-pattern rear panel appliqué, pop-open gas cap, 'Mach 1' fender decals, black or argent lower-body and front and rear valance panels, rear tape stripe with a 'Mach 1' decal, and color-keyed racing mirrors with driver's-side remote-control. The survivor Mustang Mach 1 SportsRoof model offered here was manufactured in June of 1973 and originally sold new at Frontier Ford of Rockford, Illinois. The car wears a standout color combination: Saddle Bronze Metallic paint over a Ginger vinyl interior. Its odometer shows 103,957 miles, fewer than 2,750 miles per-year on average. A Deluxe Marti® Report verifying its originality is included in the sale and shown in a gallery photo. Exterior features include the front urethane bumpers, large front air-dam spoiler, rear-deck-mounted spoiler in black, Mach 1 badging on the front fenders, black side stripes. The paint is in excellent condition overall, and body-panel fit and alignment is proper. The Mustang emblem in the grille, Mustang-script badges on the front fenders, and Mach 1 decals are in excellent condition. Chrome trim (including on the twin exhaust tips) is in excellent condition overall with light patina on the door handles. Cabin glass and lighting lenses are clear and uncracked. Factory 5-spoke, styled steel wheels with Mustang-logo center-caps are mounted with BFGoodrich® Radial T/A tires. The car's interior features horizontal-pattern Ginger vinyl upholstery on both the front, high-back buckets and the rear bench seat. Door trim echoes the upholstery pattern and material. The color theme is a welcome break from black interiors, and all surfaces here remain fresh and original to the touch. Cabin floors are carpeted in ginger-brown with Mustang-embroidered-logo carpet mats in place up front. A brown, Mustang-logo, factory 2-spoke steering wheel with woodgrain trim frames the large speedometer with a smaller fuel gauge. The upper-center console includes the factory radio and slide-lever controls for the heating and ventilation, with a t-shifter for the automatic transmission and an armrest with storage, and an analog clock completing the console. The lack of wear on control surfaces, upholstery and trim-together with the color combination-makes for a standout and rare presentation. The Marti Report verifies only 287 Mustangs with these colors were produced for 1973. The car's trunk floor is covered in the correct-pattern vinyl material. Under the hood, the numbers-matching 302-cubic-inch V8 engine (in proper Ford blue) retains its original appearance. (Be sure to sample the car's engine note by watching the video linked with this listing.) The engine bay is very clean and nicely detailed with no distracting add-ons or modifications. All components are properly located. Viewed from below, the chassis is complete, straight, and undamaged. The full-length dual-exhaust system with cross-over pipe (showing no signs of overly aggressive driving styles or track use) is a focal point.
