for two things in design: simplicity and clarity. Great design is
born of those two things. €" Lindo Leader, graphic designer and
creator of the FedEx logo. Offered here is a fully customized 1935
Ford in Lime Gold metallic. The quality of the restoration and
customization work was the result of professionals who shared a
vision-not unlike Mr. Leader's cited above-of simplicity and
clarity. Creativity expressed by the removal of the unnecessary or
visually cluttered in favor of the flow and essence of this classic
automobile design. Virtually every cosmetic or mechanical aspect of
the car has been dramatically upgraded, yet the effect is one of
clean, flowing simplicity. Just 528 miles have been put on the car
since its stunning completion. Outside, the Lime Gold metallic
paint (one of the colors Carroll Shelby chose for his Ford
creations) was a beautiful choice for the curvaceous '35 Ford body.
The paint finish is outstanding-even and perfectly glossy across
every body panel. All bodywork was performed to the highest
standards, and included sectioning the body by 4 inches, chopping 4
inches off the top, and widening the body by 6 inches. The
resulting stance and visual statement is a perfect blend of the
customizer's art and the classic '35 Ford body lines. The front
grille (re-executed in black), reduced-height windshield, flowing
fenders, sloping rear end (with twin exhaust outlets, but no
bumper), and black fabric convertible top combine for a true custom
statement. Racing-style side mirrors are fitting extensions of the
headlight styling. The exquisite overall attention to detail is
epitomized by the entire front face of the car: beautifully curved
fenders, headlights (with LEDs), fully customized grille, small
vented amber turn signal lights, and the smooth sloping hood are
all of a piece in appearance. In the rear, the sloped deck with its
single embossed Ford-script logo, is a perfect ending to the design
statement. Chrome, twisted-six-spoke American Racing® wheels are
mounted with BFGoodrich® Radial T/A performance tires. Top up, or
top down, the car's presence is undeniable. The interior-all in
black-has been updated in every respect, yet still manages a
design-connection to the exterior bodywork. Well-bolstered,
low-back front buckets and a fold-down rear bench seat are
upholstered in fresh black leather in a square-pattern design. Door
trim uses the same material but includes pleated inserts and a
beguiling, curved trim piece. Cabin carpeting is black. A
designer-original, Ford-branded steering wheel frames a beautifully
simple black-leather-covered dashboard. Five chrome-trimmed, oval,
blue-digital-illuminated instruments face the driver. The center
stack includes control levers for the well-integrated Vintage Air®
system as well as JVC® audio head unit. The full console hosts the
shifter for the automatic transmission, covered cupholders, and
storage. The custom look extends to the perfectly clean engine bay
where the Ford 4.6-liter V8 breathes through a forward-located air
cleaner assembly. Custom covers for the Powered by Ford engine and
its intake system are body-color-matching panels. Viewed from
below, the chassis and power-delivery components are perfectly
aligned and of course, with just 528 miles, clean and undamaged.
