Vehicle Description
1968 Oldsmobile 442 Tribute
Why This Vehicle is Special
The Oldsmobile 442 is a muscle car produced by Oldsmobile between
the 1964 and 1987 model years. Introduced as an option package for
US-sold F-85 and Cutlass models, it became a model in its own right
from 1968 to 1971.
The "442" name (pronounced "Four-four-two") derives from the
original car's four-barrel carburetor, four-speed manual
transmission, and dual exhausts.
We have an Oldsmobile 1968 442 4-speed Tribute coupe painted in
black with a gold hood stripe and decked out with 442 emblems and a
whole lot of performance parts here now at Skyway Classics.
Mechanical
Our 442 Tribute has the 350 cubic inch engine, casting #3395558,
that sounds very strong with the factory exhaust headers, aluminum
metal intake, 4-barrel carb, chrome valve covers, chrome open air
cleaner assembly with the 44s decal, and performance exhaust and
mufflers flowing out the factory tips.
It is sitting in a very detailed and clean engine compartment and
looks factory correct with power steering and power brakes too.
Interior
The original looking black interior features a black bench seat,
which would have been standard even on the real 442, black carpet,
black with factory gauges and a large tach mounted under the dash,
AM/FM radio, and of course the floor mounted 4-speed shifter.
Exterior
Our Olds has repaint in Black with the gold stripe on the hood, 442
emblems in the grill and side fenders, and the rear factory
wing.
It has the F-41 rear- sway bar, 12-bolt rear end, factory gold
painted wheels with trim rings, and Cooper Cobra Radial GT
tires.
When you open the trunk it also has a clean trunk which has a
factory grey and black trunk mat.
Conclusion
Do not miss your chance at this 1968 Oldsmobile 442 Tribute we have
at Skyway Classics. It is a great tribute of Oldsmobile history and
a great muscle car that won't break your bank account.
