Chevrolet designed an all new Corvette in 1984 that marked a
profound turning point in the proud Corvette lineage. It was a
complete performance machine that manifested much more than
Corvette's traditional attributes of styling distinction and
power.
It was a Corvette equally adept at cornering, braking, top speed
and acceleration, a Corvette that bent brute strength with luxury
and comfort, a Corvette that introduced new standards or precision,
control, style and finesse.
We have a pretty blue 1984 Chevrolet Corvette here for sale at
Skyway Classics.
Mechanical
The 1984 Corvette has a 5.7 350 cubic inch L83 V8 engine that had
230 horsepower paired with an automatic transmission, this Vette is
a lot of fun to drive. Very solid car with no rust and works
mechanically.
At the heart of it all is the twin-throttle-body Cross-Fire
Injection V8. This was basically one of the world's finest
high-performance engines with the Computer Command Control
automatically advancing the spark curve to provide maximum
performance advantage.
On the track at the GM Proving Ground, this power plant has
delivered top speed of 142 MPH and 0 to 60 MPH times of 6.4
seconds.
It stops as well as it accelerates too with it's Girlock four-wheel
disc brake system, the Corvette can decelerate from its top speed
as high as 1.0g. Girlock is internationally respected for high
performance and racing brake expertise.
There's a cold-air induction system supplying air to the engine by
a twin-duct arrangement designed integrally with the clamshell
hood. Stainless steel headers lead to an exhaust system that is
carefully engineered to fir the new undercarriage configuration yet
maintains the high-flow characteristics of the traditional Corvette
dual exhaust. And no other car has anything quite like the
one-piece, cast magnesium covers for the air cleaner and valve
train.
The engine and engine compartment looks as new.
Interior
The interior features a pair of ptional Sport Bucket Seats in blue
cloth upholstery that looks very sharp. It pairs well with the
exterior and has no rips, tears, to holes. Looking past the factory
steering wheel you will see the Corvette communication center and
at the time no-one had ever seen an instrument panel like this one.
At least not in a vehicle designed to remain on the ground.
A multitude of relevant information is electronically displayed in
vivid detail like the Electronic liquid crystals display
multicolored readouts, analog and digital, Speed, engine
revolutions, and numerical readouts of engine and electrical
conditions, fuel consumption and trip mileage data are provided in
your choice of language with the entire system illuminated brightly
enough to be read easily even in full daylight.
It has the Delco-GM/Bose stereo radio system, blue carpets , door
panels, and center console all looking factory fresh.
Exterior
The all new bodies on these 1984 Corvettes were like nothing ever
before with the most acute windshield rake for a production car,
64.7 degrees, Hidden headlights, integrated halogen fog lamps,
Front and rear side-mounted cornering lamps, frameless glass rear
window doubles as a hatch, removable one-piece roof, and four
functional circular taillights.
Ours is painted in a nice blue and is original and the exterior
looks good. Overall, this car is in great condition and it comes
with a huge file of paperwork including the order sheets, payments,
dealer paper work, Owners Manual, Deal Brochures, and work receipts
too.
Conclusion
This is a fantastic functioning !1984 Corvette we have here at
Skyway Classics that is worth your time to come see and drive.
