Body off frame restored. It's beautiful in and out, a lot of time
and money was spent. It comes with a pile of receipts. Very
desirable combination of 4-speed with air, ps and pdb. Real Bel
Air, born a V-8 hardtop.
EXTERIOR: This is a slick Bel Air and no signs of rust or damage on
the body. It's straight and it fits nicely. The paint is smooth and
glossy. It looks like all of the chrome and stainless was replaced.
Up front the entire grill, bumper, headlight bezels, lenses,,
emblems were replaced. It is updated with HID headlights. New
rockets on the hood, antenna, door handles and dual mirrors. All
the stainless trim around the windows has been replaced. All the
Bel Air trim down the sides is new. In backed the bumper, bezels,
emblems have been replaced. All new glass, the windows roll up and
down nicely.. Upgraded modern electric wipers. Door jambs are
painted real slick. The weather strips and window seals are
replaced. It has 15" rally wheels with smoothie caps and Cooper
tires. It has a 3rd brake light in the back window.
INTERIOR: It's been redone from carpet to headliner. Down on the
floor is new black carpet and rubber floor mats. There's a Mr
Gasket 4-speed sticking out of the hump. All new red seat belts
front and back. Reproduction upholstery with the silver piping and
buttons. New matching door panels with new armrests ,window cranks
and handles. The metal trim is painted slick gloss red. The chrome
trim on the dash has been replaced. New heater control panel looks
original and it does control the a/c system too. It has a retro
stereo with kick panel speakers. The a/c vents are under the dash.
It has a cushion grip steering wheel with a vintage Sun tachometer
mounted to the column. The headliner is new and fits tight, visors
and mirror were replaced. The interior lights work. New dimmer
switch on the floor.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It's been completely disassembled and restored.
The motor is a rebuilt 350, it has a 4 barrel carb stock manifolds
and it is dressed up with polished aluminum valve covers and a
chrome air cleaner. They did away with the generator and it now has
a new alternator. It also has an updated power brake system with
the dual reservoir master cylinder. It features a modern power
steering as well. It has a new fan shroud and fan. Mosern heat and
air conditioning system. The battery is secured properly, has new
cables. The engine bay is all clean metal, firewall is painted
gloss red. The inner fenders are glass black, hinges were
replaced.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It's all painted gloss red even under the mat.
New correct rubber mat, seat divider and weatherstrip. Rally wheel
with a new Cooper tire for a spare and it has as a floor jack
neatly stored in a box.
UNDERSIDE: The body was taken off of the frame for a thorough
restoration. The entire chassis was stripped and painted. The front
end was all rebuilt. New control arms, bushings, springs, shocks,
upgraded with a sway bar and drop spindles. The steering system was
rebuilt, new center link tie rod ends. In back shocks, springs and
bushings and it's also upgraded with the sway bar. The fuel system
was replaced including the tank, straps, sending unit and lines.
The brake system has been completely rebuilt, upgraded with disc in
front. New hoses, brake lines and the e-brake assembly is hooked
up. New dual exhaust system. Looking up at the motor it's spotless
Chevy orange, the starter and motor mounts are fresh. It has a
Muncie 4-speed transmission. The clutch and shift linkage was
replaced. The rear end was completely rebuilt. The floors are all
metal, any rust was cut out and and replacement sections welded
in.
This one is nicer than I first thought. The restoration was pretty
extensive. Very desirable Bel Air hardtop with 4-speed, air, ps and
pdb!
