With an upgraded 495 hp supercharged V8, loaded interior, and the
cool history that has won this one a ton of awards, this 2006 Ford
Shelby GT-H has all the right moves to be your new favorite modern
classic.
When buying one of these specialty GT-H cars, 2006 is the year you
want. Not only was this the first model year they brought back this
legendary livery of the Hertz Shelby GTs, but also it's the 40th
anniversary of the whole program. While the white and blue cars are
iconic heroes, there's something more sinister about the black and
gold that was specific to the legendary GT-H program. This
intimidation is alive and well thanks to nice care that makes the
factory black still ready to reflect the midnight neon. Plus, this
attitude is further heightened by hood pins, bold SHELBY lettering
& badges, special gas cap, rear spoiler, and full body kit. And you
can see it all so well today because this one has led a babied
life.
The interior is a loaded Mustang with all the right Shelby touches.
The black leather sets the tone correctly for this performance
machine. These sculpted buckets are all-day comfortable, and even
come with the Shelby GT-H special stitching in the headrests. Plus,
barely averaging over 2,400 miles annually means little seat time
and few opportunities for wear-n-tear. The instrument panel is
equal parts retro and state-of-the-art, and the packaging on the
airbag steering wheel looks almost like those iconic first-gen
units. As a Shelby, you get also get a signed and numbered plaque
on the dash to always remind you how special this one is. But more
than just rarity, you'll love that this is a modern classic loaded
with the best features like air conditioning, cruise control, power
windows, power locks, keyless entry, and power driver's seat. And
while the AM/FM stereo with CD changer and satellite radio will
always let you hear your best tunes, we really know your favorite
soundtrack begins under the hood.
This carries its the original 4.6-liter V8 engine. The
fuel-injected motor was already a giant killer right out of the
box, this one has had some serious investment added. It now has a
supercharger installed by Boosted Performance, and then it was
dialed in by Pro-Dyno to produce 495 horsepower at the rear wheels.
We've got the dyno sheet to prove it... but all you really need to
do is fire up this supercharged snake, and the roar of the Roush
performance system will let everyone will know your power
supremacy. Making sure you get all this power to the pavement is an
upgraded five-speed automatic transmission with 3500 RPM stall to
keep you in the optimal powerband. This feeds the limited slip rear
end (traction control can be turned off for performance days.)
Also, you've also got power steering, four-wheel disc brakes, and
super-sticky Nitto Extreme ZR tires to keep you in complete control
of this extra-speedy Shelby.
The sale comes complete with all the right documentation, including
the dealer invoice, original window sticker, factory buildsheet,
bill of sale, build receipts, and Shelby certifications. With only
500 examples produced in 2006, a low-mileage GT-H that received all
the right respect is a rare sight, so call today or regret it
tomorrow!
