GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this highly original, 1965 Ford
Mustang GT Coupe A-Code for consideration. History indicates that
this is a 4-owner car. The car was original ordered by a franchise
owner for his son who kept it for a short time. It was passed on
the second owner who then sold it to his nephew who kept the car
for over 40 years. The car spent its entire life in West Virginia
until we recently acquired the car on trade.
This is a true A-Code Mustang GT powered by its what appears to be
and believed to be its original 289 V8, 3 Speed Manual transmission
and rear wheel drive. It is finished in its original factory color,
Vintage Burgundy over Parchment Pony interior. Other highlights
include: Power disc brakes, full spare tire, jack and wrench, GT
trim package, lined trunk, original wheels with original wheel
covers, etc.
This Mustang has never been fully taken apart and fully restored.
It has been selectively restored including a professional repaint,
new trunk liner kit with spare tire cover, newer door panel inserts
(originals in the trunk) and a host of services and minor things as
they came up over time. The dash, pony seats, carpet and other
interior appointments appear to be original. The exterior paint is
not recent and remains in excellent condition.
Under the hood appears to be original and unrestored. It is clean
and tidy. The original air cleaner has been replaced with an open
element, buy it does remain with the car.
Mechanically this Mustang is a runner. As a result of consistent
care and maintenance, the car remains in excellent mechanical
condition and is a great driving vehicle.
Perhaps the most recognizable American classic, the 1965 Ford
Mustang is one of the most sought after cars on the planet. A
non-molested GT as the one here will garner world attention. This
car has never deviated from its original factory configuration.
Documentation includes the original owners manual, a mountain of
receipts documenting chosen items to address and services.
