Vehicle Description
The 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 is arguably the best year for the
first-generation coupes. So it's awesome to see one of these sleek
machines restored with upgrades like some cool Boss 302 style and a
five-speed... all while keeping the right history with the great
documentation and the original 351 V8. So as you look at the total
package, you soon realize you're looking at one of those rare
turn-key classics that has style AND substance.
Calypso Coral is arguably one of the best colors you could get on a
Mustang in 1969. It's bright, vibrant, and distinct...and that's
especially true with the shine you get from this one. The car was
given a full restoration in 2011, and it has been with the same
owner the whole time since then. It has an enduring quality seen in
the good-looking panels, well-done gaps, and mirror-like bumpers
that keep the fundamentals looking attractive. But the detail
people will really be looking at is the upgraded aggression all
dressed in black. This one goes for the meaner end of the pony car
crowd as the Boss-inspired C-channel side stripes, blacked-out
hood, deep chin spoiler, window slats, and full-width spoiler.
Plus, the hood pins, hood scoop, and Mag 500 wheels are all there
to give this added intimidation and style.
The forceful attitude continues with an all-black interior and
aggressive red accents on the seat and floor mats. The seats look
terrific, the dash pad is smooth, the trim is complete, and the
headliner is excellent. It all makes for a very inviting atmosphere
where you can really tell they paid attention during the
restoration. There are even nice vintage details, like the working
dome light and stock AM/FM radio. It's a great classic driver's
setup with the rim blow steering wheel, round gauge package, and
Hurst shifter (although you may want to take note of the shift
pattern.)
Under the hood is the numbers-matching 351 cubic-inch V8. And
you'll really love showing it off because they took extra time to
make sure it looks stock. That means the bold Ford blue on the
block, valve covers, and big air grabber. All the details are great
with plenty of Autolite components (including a classic battery
topper) and all the decals looking bright and correct. But this one
also wants to make sure you love driving it. That's why it has been
properly maintained, and there's even an upgraded Holley
four-barrel carburetor for better all-around power. The motor fires
up eagerly and runs smoothly. Plus, the upgrade to a five-speed
manual transmission gives you better ratios to fully harness this
V8 power. Add in the power steering, power brakes, front discs, and
wide Cooper Cobra tires, and this makes for an all-around great
classic driver.
The sale comes complete with desirable paperwork, like the factory
buildsheet, owner's manual, and original warranty card. The stock
wheels, FMX transmission, Autolite 4300 carb, and Mach 1 rocker
moldings are also available in case you want to return the full
Mach 1 treatment. This is a restored coupe with the right upgrades
in attitude and driving fun, but it never loses the elements that
make a classic Mustang so desirable. So don't miss this unique
classic. Call now!
