Ford Mustang Boss 429 The story of how the BOSS 429 was created has
been told many times over. The legend of the BOSS 429 is almost
bigger and more impressive than the car itself. Only 859 BOSS 429s
were built in 1969 but ask any Mustang or muscle car enthusiast
what the ultimate Mustang would be and they will undoubtedly say
the BOSS 429. Clean, functional and aggressive styling matched the
car's performance and reputation and the monster sized motor under
the large hood scoop are the elements that made it so famous and
legendary. All the same elements that make these cars so sought
after as collectibles today garnering some of the highest values of
any Mustang ever produced. On June 8th of 1969 one very fortunate
customer picked up their brand-new BOSS 429 Mustang from Bill
Corwin Ford in Orange California. Factory delivered in desirable
Wimbledon white exterior, it had black interior along with all the
options found on BOSS 429 cars such as power steering, power front
disc brakes, console, trunk mounted battery, functional front air
spoiler, oil cooler, traction lok differential and of course a
heavy duty 4 speed transmission. The story of what makes this
particular Boss 429 special, is the fact that it has remained
original and unrestored in California with its original owner all
the way until 1987. It has always been meticulously maintained and
cared for throughout the years still retaining its numbers matching
Boss 429ci/375hp engine. Underneath the car, you can still see
factory batch primer with body color over spray, assembly markings
and chalk marks just as it left the assembly line. Also the owner
kept the window sticker, two build sheets, owner's manual, Ford
warranty card, registration slips, mileage log books kept by the
original owner, even the towing invoice from the original owner the
the cars second owner and much much more making it one of the most
highly documented Boss 429's we have seen to date. It even has a
handwritten letter from the original owner himself. Not only does
the car have outstanding documentation but also a complete owner
history back to day one. Today the car remains in unrestored
condition and is an outstanding survivor example perfect for the
