For Sale: 1968 Pontiac GTO in Concord, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

A real-deal 1968 Pontiac GTO with a sleek finish is instantly appealing to the eye. And this one has a hotter V8 and a five-speed to prove there's substance behind the style.

Pontiac loved its shades of blue in the late '60s, but this Silver Blue Metallic is a recent modern application. So it gives you the right spirit of the original GTO but now with a deep clearcoat gloss. It loves to let the sun highlight all the gentle curves of the well-presented body. While the color is sophisticated, the overall look is downright mean. This was one of the most aggressive years ever for the GTO. The color-matched Endura front end, dual hood scoops, Rally II wheels, and big dual exhaust tips all announce the muscle car king.

Black interiors have always been the popular choice for muscle cars. This one likes to be the kind of true driver that you can share with family and friends without too much worry. There's even some added comfort from features like the cloth inserts in the seats and the upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo with Bluetooth. But in the king of muscle cars, the driver is always the priority. That's why the front has bucket seats and a center console in-between. There are good features like the wood-rimmed sports steering wheel, machine-turned dash panel, and an auxiliary gauge trio under the dash for better information. And have you counted the gears on the Hurst shifter yet?

Under the hood is a 400 cubic inch V8. We're told the motor was only rebuilt about two years ago, and only about 2k miles have been put on it since. And you can see the investment in the powerhouse means added muscle. This now has Edelbrock Performer D-port heads, a Butler cam, Edelbrock intake, an aluminum radiator, and topped with a Holley four-barrel carburetor. It fires up with plenty of gusto thanks to long tube headers adding power and rumble as they feed the H-pipe dual exhaust and Flowmasters. And you get full control over this enhanced power package thanks to the Tremec 3550 five-speed manual transmission. Add in power steering, power brakes with front discs, and wide modern tires, and this is an all-around great driving package.

Iconic style meets the right driver-ready investments in this Pontiac GTO. It makes for a sleek coupe that's going to make you want to stay out all weekend looking for the best roads. Call now!
