The 1969 Corvette Convertible ( hardtop)
Of Corvettes 67 year history, the 1969 convertible is one of the Crown Jewels. Photos do not do it justice. You have to see it to appreciate the condition this vehicle is in. It’s won me many trophies at local car shows.
The vanity: This car is as close to original as you will find. It has had no modifications to stay true to the authenticity. The stylish lines speak for themselves. At the time, the car introduced innovative features, such as gauges for the Tachometer, ammeter, oil pressure, sweep second rally clock, fuel gauge, mileage and trip odometer, warning lights for seat belts, headlight position and door ajar. The center console houses fingertip controls for the heater, defroster, radio, vents, ashtray, cigarette lighter, shift lever and parking brake, plus an engine rating plate and softly glowing space-age fiber optics that monitor outside running lights. Color-keyed deluxe push button seat belts. Classic bucket seats for an aggressive driving position. Other refinements include a stronger, more rigid frame for improved ride and handling, new maximum security 3-way locking system on the steering column.Removable hardtop for when you want to FEEL what this car can do.
The nitty gritty: Plenty of surplus power thanks to the upgraded 427 cubic inch/435 horsepower, with three two barrel carbs. The engine is mated to a turbo 400 automatic transmission. This car is also a “ matching numbers” car, with the engine VIN number the same as the body VIN number. Disc brakes at all four wheels, with road grabbing 15-inch wide ovals plus new 8-inch wide wheels. Everything on the car is original including the air pump.
The car was purchased in 2003 from a classic car dealer in Ohio. At the time of purchase the classic car dealer issued a “Certificate of Value”. That certificate placed the value of the car in 2003 at $55,000. I am offering the car for sale at $69,000.
