Vehicle Description
1966 Ford Ranchero
Why This Car Is Special
The Ranchero was introduced for the 1957 model year and ran until
1979. Our fully restored and beautiful 1966 Ford Ranchero, we have
here at Skyway Classics, represents a revolutionary half-car,
half-truck configuration that made it easy to climb in and drive
while standing by ready, willing and able to haul burdens as
needed.
When it was introduced, the Ranchero broke quite a few automotive
industry rules. Built off of an automobile assembly line yet sold
via Ford's truck division, it was a definite hit with both the
automotive press and the American buying public.
It's looking sharp both inside and out and is armed with the
factory correct 289 cubic inch V8 engine under its hood that runs
and looks great.
Mechanical
Under the hood rests what we believe to be the factory original 289
cubic inch small block Ford engine that looks like it did the day
it left the showroom with the Ford Blue painted air cleaner
assembly and valve covers, factory intake and carb, air
conditioning, and most other stock parts. It looks great in the
detailed, painted, and clean engine compartment.
The power is routed through a two-speed automatic that is shifted
on the column. The exhaust has a nice note and the underneath it's
very solid and the chassis features are all restored, painted, and
clean too.
The Ranchero sits on factory steel wheels with Ford Ranchero styled
hubcaps and trim rings, adorned with blackwall tires for a very
clean period look.
Interior
The updated interior has a balance of vintage factory looks with
tasteful amounts of aftermarket parts like the twin two-tone
brown/tan high-back bucket seats with interior storage space just
behind them, tan door panels as well as the headliner, clean brown
carpeting and tan floor mats, three-spoke polished sport steering
wheel, the nice looking factory dash with the aftermarket
white-faced performance gauges in the factory stock instrument
panel, air conditioning, center console, power windows, and
upgraded stereo radio system and speakers. radio.
Exterior
This 1966 features a clean and very nice looking repainted maroon
paint scheme that is solid-looking and well-aligned, with a hood
and doors that open and close smoothly and show nice even gaps.
Many of its exterior fittings, including both the front and rear
bumpers, side mirrors and door handles, were all replaced and look
great as they sit alongside trim and badges that also present
well.
The bed out back has a custom bed liner and tailgate protector.
Conclusion
The 1966 restored Ford Ranchero we have here at Skyway Classics is
a seldom seen classic whose model represented an adventurous
deviation from the norm.
It is very original but with a custom flare added to it to make it
a modern street cruiser that looks as good as it runs.
If you're looking for a well restored Ranchero and one that runs
with confidence-inspiring smoothness, this Ranchero is the one for
you.
