When you mention instant collectibles, the 2004 Volkswagen Golf R32 shoots right to the top of the list. It was only available for one year, and it was the ultimate hot hatchback. The engineers expanded the displacement to 3.2-liters. It produced 240 horsepower. That's nearly as much as a Mustang GT from the same year! And not only does this multi-valve motor have a better gallop than those pony cars, but it knows how to feel like it's riding on rails. The short wheelbase, Haldex all-wheel-drive system, fully independent suspension, four-wheel power disc brakes, and grippy sport tires will deliver the most driving fun you've likely ever had. The six-speed manual transmission puts it all firmly in your control, and that includes the terrific growl the Germans gave the special exhaust.
