Vehicle Description
This 1963 Buick Riviera has been restored to be a sharp-looking
coupe that offers big V8 power, an overdrive transmission, a
leather-lined A/C interior. The result is the hardtop that caught
your eye for its style, but it will also win you over with its
outstanding cruiser-ready total package.
We're told that there was over $40,000 spent on restoring this
Buick over the last few years, and it's not hard to believe that
from its stellar first impression. The Pearl White Metallic paint
has the unmistakable look of a modern application and a
professional hand applying it. It has a pearlescent glow that knows
how to attract admiring eyes. The '63 Riviera deserves a solid
investment because this is the first year for the car, and the
bright style really brings out all the amazing details. Crisply
defined lines with pointed ends always made these large coupes look
both elegant and aggressive. Those mirror-like chrome bumpers love
to hug all the distinctive curves of both the front and the rear.
And there are some nice upgrades, too. The clear headlights have a
distinct yellow pair that's reminiscent of France and this Buick's
namesake. Plus, the addition of the 20-inch Boss wheels is the
ideal upgrade for a coupe that loves to be premium, sporty, and
overall sharp.
Just like the outside, they made all the right investments inside,
too. For example, the seats have the classic button-top
presentation, but they are now finished in supple leather that
would make a Lexus jealous. This is a true individual cruiser, and
that's why everyone has bucket seats, including the rear. The
tasteful ivory is not only on the seats, but also the center
console, door panels, dash, and headliner for a fresh and uniform
look. There's even an upgraded Flaming River steering wheel that
was done to match. The plush carpeting is finished in a tasteful
black so that high traffic areas don't show dirt, which makes this
the ideal driver. The investment here was about showing off the
classic luxury of a Riviera, and so you've got a ton of great
factory features. This includes the power driver's seat, power
locks, tilt steering column. There's a smooth action on the power
windows from a nice investment during the restoration, and so that
makes it easy to show off the pillarless hardtop profile without
ever leaving the driver's seat. More recent upgrades include seat
belts, tinted windows, and a cool/bright glow of digital
readouts.
Buick knew that effortless performance was the key to the Riviera's
success, so it's great to have the numbers-matching 401 cubic-inch
V8 still in the engine bay. But this one is also dressed to impress
with its fresh silver presentation that includes Offenhauser finned
valve covers. The V8 inhales deeply with a new Edelbrock
four-barrel carburetor, and it exhales with a dignified sweet tune
as Sanderson headers feed the dual exhaust. And any time you want
the sophisticate to really let down its hair, there are also
electric cutouts on the exhaust. There have also been solid
investments in the right supporting components, like a new
Flowkooler water pump, Derale electric fans, and a four-core
aluminum radiator. The suspension has a solid feel and the right
Buick smoothness, and that makes it great for cruising. So does the
recent addition of the electronically controlled 4L60E four-speed
automatic transmission w/overdrive. Add in Power steering, power
brakes w/discs up front, and modern sport tires, and this Riviera
is a great classic for easy modern driving.
This is the restored classic that has a terrific shine, big V8
power, and all the luxury you want. So don't let this total package
