This 1969 Pontiac Firebird is a nicely presented coupe that gives
you vivid red paint, an aggressive stance, and a well-built 400ci
V8 under the hood. And as you look over the full package, you can
really see they paid attention to details to give you quite a
head-turning coupe with head-snapping power.
The bright red paint always looks good on a performance machine.
And this upgraded color also has a modern clearcoat luster that
delivers the kind of look that knows how to radiate on a sunny day.
And because the panels are looking so good, you can easily see the
details that make these Firebirds iconic. It's in the way the sharp
body creases combine with performance pieces like twin hood scoops,
front chin spoiler, and rear decklid spoiler. And this one has the
right upgrades. Some add to the quality, like the newer
weather-stripping and crystal clear headlights. Other pieces add to
the intimidating attitude, like the classic Rally II wheels that
are now staggered 14/15 front/rear to subtly deliver a more
aggressive stance.
The black interior looks good against the bold red exterior. It's
especially attractive thanks to the newer carpeting, newer seat
covers, and a smooth dash. There are nice driver features, like the
front bucket seats w/headrests and a center console with the
wood-like trim. You'll also spot some nice upgrades. There's a
trunk release button on the dash (a rarity in a classic), an
upgraded sport steering wheel, and a set of auxiliary gauges
cleanly installed under the dash.
Under the hood is the Pontiac's legendary 400 cubic-inch
powerhouse. The V8 has a clean and tidy look that proves more of
the quality investments in this coupe. Plus, it has been upgraded
for performance with Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, an Edelbrock
performer intake, and long tube headers. It fires up eagerly with a
feeling of quality, and there's even an aluminum radiator to help
keep the full package running cool. With both the mild cam and the
glasspack style mufflers, this loves to make a nice tune out of the
dual exhaust (it has the ideal balance of aggressiveness but
nothing too boisterous that will make the neighbors uneasy.) The
three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes,
and front discs are all part of the package that makes for an
all-around nice driving coupe.
Style and power come together nicely on this iconic Firebird. So
you know you don't want an ideal package like this to slip away.
