Vehicle Description
This 1953 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery is a real-deal former ambulance.
And while the opportunity to get a truly distinct classic like this
already should have you excited, what's really going to amaze you
is how this hero still runs strong with a smooth feeling on the
road.
We love a good classic Chevy for its Motown history. So it's really
cool that this originally came from the Sarnia, Ontario Volunteer
Fire Department, because that is a border city with Michigan. In
fact, this one has even been rebadged for Royal Oak - a Detroit
suburb. So it feels like a Motown hero, and we love the way this
one presents today. The red paint is glossy to remain bold, but it
also has the look like it has given true service. There is a fully
coordinated black, white, and gold that provides the livery and
accenting. There are great classic Chevy chrome details, like the
jet-inspire hood ornament, factory wheel covers, and the big/bright
bumper and grille combo. But the brightwork we think you'll really
notice is what makes this so unique. It's on the top flasher light,
gumball roof light, and rear door spotlight. And not only do all of
these shine brightly, but also the siren gives that classic
mechanical wound sound. So they'll see you AND hear you coming
whenever you want.
The interior has a vintage and useful style. There are practical
features up front like two bucket seats up front, seatbelts, and a
working heater. It's the rear that will really impress people. The
cargo door swings wide so that you can get the full gurney out, and
it slides easily on the classic linoleum-style flat floor. There's
plenty of vintage equipment to look at, too, like the first air box
with an oxygen mask, an auxiliary tank, and a flashlight. There's
even a vintage fire/ambulance hat for those times when you lead the
parade with this Chevy.
Under the hood is more classic style. It starts with the trusty
Chevy inline-six that has a bold red block radiating from within
the dark engine bay. It's made to be a better cruiser with features
like a 12-volt system, newer exhaust, and modern cruising tires. It
really feels both solid and smooth out on the road, and the
column-shifted three-speed manual transmission gives you proper
control.
Complete with owner's manual, this is a terrific parade-level
vehicle that's just waiting for the kind of person who loves the
right kind of attention. Call today!!!
