Cincy Classic Cars is proud to offer this 1974 Pontiac Grand Prix Model J with its born with Factory numbers matching 400 engine. This is a factory "T" code GP which means it was born with a 400 Pontiac engine and a 400 automatic transmission and dual exhaust. This GP features a professional repaint in Factory Bronze color, a beautiful black deluxe interior, the numbers matching original Pontiac 400 engine, and several original dealer books and brochures. This GP is finished a beautiful and desirable color combination of Bronze (code 66) over Black vinyl interior. This is the factory color scheme as seen on the trim tag photographed above. This GP is a stunner and is in super nice overall condition and this color really stands out in a crowd.
Exterior
The Bronze exterior is in beautiful overall condition. This Grand Prix was treated to a professional repaint some years ago in the factory Bronze color. The paint is in great condition and has a high gloss and smooth touch, with a beautiful shine. The trim and emblems are all in good condition as seen in the photos. The car is very solid overall and the gaps and lines are very good around the car. Both bumpers are in excellent shape with no rust or dents or pitting. There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but noting was intentionally excluded from the photos. There are a few minor small bumps under the paint and a few under the vinyl top but overall the car is very rust free, see all photos. Tires have excellent tread left and drive nicely and are are sized 225/70/15 and were replaced in 2020. The OEM Rally wheels are in excellent condition with original trim rings and center caps. All weather stripping and window sweeps are in great condition. Trunk is very solid and clean with a newer trunk mat, the original spare tire and jack. The underside is extremely solid and honest and shows no signs of any prior or past rust and no repairs or patches anywhere on the underside. The underside shows very well with a newer exhaust system with new Flowmaster type mufflers which gives this GP an excellent muscle car sound at idle and cruising speeds.
Interior
The Black interior of this GP is in fantastic mostly original condition. The seat covers are in great overall condition and show no signs of any major wear. The carpet is like new as well with no major stains, rips, or holes. The original dash is in good overall shape and the dash bezel is good as well. The Motorola 8 track player works and sounds good and the dash was not cut for installation. The door panels are in great condition and the arm rests are in tact and work as they should. The headliner and rear tray are in good condition and the headliner is not sagging. All interior lights and gauges work as they should outside of the clock and horn. The wipers, stereo, and blower motor all work. This GP has factory Air Conditioning and all the factory components are in place and currently the AC blows cold and works well. This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma what so ever.
Mechanical
This GP is in excellent mechanical condition and the original numbers matching 400 Pontiac engine runs very well. The 400 engine was believed to be removed a few years ago and new seals were installed and new gaskets. It was repainted at that time and new Pontiac valve covers were added. The automatic transmission shifts nicely and operates well. In the video one can observe this car running and driving with no excessive rattles or noises, and the car handles and performs well. This Grand Prix is a great driver that feels good on the road and at highway speeds. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. It starts right away every time and runs strong. Radiator was replaced a few years ago. The brakes do not pull while driving and stop well. Car has rear air shocks. Also, the engine is clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. This is a factory AC car which is currently functioning and blowing cold air. This is a fun GP to have and gets a lot of looks while driving and runs and drives well.
