ticket to the marque, its entry-level model. This California

well-equipped, considering it is part of Cadillac?s gateway line.
It has a sumptuous ride and even in this color, those tailfins cry,
?Look at me!? This 1960 Coupe is loaded with options such as air
conditioning, six way power seat, Autronic Eye, power windows and
vents. This example was made during the second week of July 1960
(code 07C) in General Motors? Detroit, Michigan assembly plant.
Previous owner stated that this Cadillac was personally owned by
Hank Williams III! Dressed in Beaumont Beige (code 44), the car?s
paint and trim are in overall very good condition. This Cadillac?s
body is straight and solid, the engine bay is extremely tidy, the
AC Delco battery appears new and the massive chrome bumpers are
also in very good order. This Cadillac rolls on a mixed set of
radials, BFGoodrich and Remington, size 235/75R15 and L78-15,
respectively. Each tire is mounted on stock steel rims topped with
the car?s original wheel covers. The wheel covers are in good,
original order. Under that big hood is an equally large engine, a
390 CID V-8 with a four-barrel carburetor. Backing that motor is a
Hydramatic four-speed automatic transmission and a 2.94:1 rear end.
Driver convenience features are lengthy ? air-conditioning,
Twilight Sentinel, power steering (code Y), power brakes, E-Z Eye
Glass, (code E), heater (code H), power windows (code X) and power
vent windows (code N). Inside, the car retains overall good
condition. The front and rear bench seats are in very good order,
as is the matching carpet and headliner. The two-spoke steering
wheel looks good, as does the brown and tan metal instrument panel
while the inner door panels are in good, original condition. A
column-mounted gearshift and a factory AM radio complete the
interior but the speedometer/odometer and wipers are inoperable.
The 1960 Series 62 had smoother, more restrained styling as General
Motors? new head stylist, William Mitchell, took a step back from
the extreme fins of 1959. General changes included a full-width
grille, the elimination of pointed front bumper guards, increased
restraint in the application of chrome trim, lower tailfins with
oval shaped nacelles and front fender mounted directional indicator
lamps. Series 62 models were distinguished by plain fender skirts,
thin three-quarter length bodyside spears and Cadillac crests and
lettering on short horizontal front fender bars mounted just behind
the headlights. Four-window and six-window hardtop sedans were
offered again. The former featured a one-piece wraparound backlight
and flat-top roof, while the latter had a sloping rear window and
roofline. Standard equipment included power brakes, power steering,
automatic transmission, dual back-up lamps, windshield wipers,
two-speed wipers, wheel discs, outside rearview mirror, vanity
mirror and oil filter. The convertible model had power windows and
a two-way power seat. Technical highlights were finned rear drums
and an X-frame construction. Coupe competition to this Cadillac in
1960 included Buick?s Invicta, Chrysler?s Windsor, DeSoto?s
Fireflite, Dodge?s Matador, Edsel?s Ranger, Imperial?s Crown,
Lincoln?s Continental Mark V, Mercury?s Park Lane, Oldsmobile?s 98
Holiday and Pontiac?s Ventura. Cadillac collectors or anyone who
