Vehicle Description
Collectible Motor Car of Atlanta is proud to offer this 1971 Dodge
Challenger Convertible RT Tribute. Introduced in fall 1969 for the
1970 model year, the Challenger was one of two Chrysler E-body
cars, the other being the slightly smaller Plymouth Barracuda.
Positioned to compete against the Mercury Cougar and Pontiac
Firebird in the upper end of the pony car market segment, it was "a
rather late response" to the Ford Mustang, which debuted in April
1964. Even so, Chrysler intended the new Challenger as the most
potent pony car ever. This E-Body Mopar represents what dreams are
made of- Big Block. Convertible. Shaker Hood. Go Wing. Magnum
Wheels. Lemon Twist Yellow. Unless you have been living under a
rock, most of you know these attributes well in the Mopar world. Or
any world for that matter. This '71 Dodge Challenger Convertible
pays tribute to the infamous 440c.i. equipped cars of the day. This
E-Body was plucked from a private collection from a well-known
Georgia collector. The convertible was born with a 318c.i. but now
boasts a very solid 440c.i. backed by a 727 Automatic transmission.
A "Shaker" hood with hood pins was added, and since the Shaker is
mounted directly to the engine, it moves and shakes with the
engine's vibrations and movements, thus the name. Front Chin
Eyebrow Spoilers were added to achieve the nostalgic image. The
interior has been sorted in desirable White, along with the
matching White convertible top. The Rallye dash and floor-shift
automatic just adds to the experience. Final touches with the
period-correct Magnum wheels just makes this drop-top Mopar
drop-dead gorgeous! Do not miss this rare opportunity to own one of
the most sought-after muscle cars in history. Inquire today.
