This 1971 Dodge Challenger R/T Tribute Convertible underwent an
extensive frame-off restoration and features many desirable
performance upgrades. Initially introduced in the fall of 1969, the
Challenger was Dodge's answer to Chevy's Camaro and Ford's Mustang
in the Pony Car market. The first generation Challengers are known
for their "Coke Bottle" body lines and the performance-oriented
options that were available at that time. One of the most
note-worthy performance options that were available on Challengers
in 1971 were the powerful Mopar engines, including the 440 Six Pack
V8s that were only slightly less powerful than the dual-quad Hemis.
Of all the Challengers produced in 1971, only 7% were convertibles
making them one of the rarest and most collectible convertibles
around from the muscle car era, and this one is a true convertible.
This particular Challenger Convertible comes to us from a local
Mopar collector who acquired the vehicle after it underwent its
extensive frame-off rotisserie restoration. Under the shaker hood
on this '71 Challenger is an upgraded 440 Cubic Inch V8 engine with
a Six Pack (3 Dual-Barrel) Carburetor Setup. The 440 Six Pack is
hooked up to a 4 Speed Manual Transmission with a Pistol Grip
Shifter that makes this classic muscle car an absolute blast to
drive. With front disc brakes, this '71 Challenger Convertible has
plenty of stopping power for the upgraded powerplant. Power
steering ensures that you can get in and out of tight spaces much
easier and improves the overall driving experience on this classic
car. The black vinyl power convertible top is in excellent shape
and goes up and down with the simple toggle of a switch. Sitting on
4 Rallye Rims paired with BFGoodrich Raised Letter Radial T/A
tires, this muscle car has a fantastic look and a very nice ride.
The exterior on this Dodge Challenger Convertible is stunning,
having been re-finished in its original color, Green Go, which was
one of those famously bright and flashy Mopar muscle car colors
from the era. The interior is down-right impressive! The front
bucket seats and rear bench have been reupholstered in black vinyl,
which provides a nice contrast to the bright exterior. The dash,
door panels, and steering wheel are equally impressive, all of
which feature beautiful woodgrain accents. The Rallye Instrument
Cluster is incorporated into the dash and is equipped with a 150
MPH speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, temperature gauge, amp
gauge, oil pressure gauge, and clock. A radio is also tucked neatly
under the dash. Whether you're looking for your very first classic
muscle car or your garage is full of e-body mopars, this 1971 Dodge
Challenger Convertible R/T Tribute is an excellent choice. Give us
