Imagine what would happen if you put Sean Connery, Sophia Loren and Clint Eastwood in the same room and instructed them to create an automobile. Its not a stretch to conclude that they might have envisioned the Jensen Interceptor. Assembled in England, designed in Italy and powered by American muscle, the Jensen Interceptor passionately blended the cultural influences of the day into a stunning if not obscure automotive icon.
Conceived in England and promoted as the "Gentleman's Express" it is a full sized luxury grand touring car whose exterior was penned by Italian coachbuilder Carrozzeria Touring. It's opulent interior is wrapped in 4 hides of English Connoly leather, exotic veneers and a full compliment of Smith's gauges. At a nearly 4,000 pound curb weight it relied on the same Chrysler 440 cubic inch V8 engine and 727 Torqueflite transmission that made Mopar part of every car guy's vernacular.
This MKlll Interceptor originally hails from California and has been part of a prominent Dallas family's collection for three generations. The car was resprayed, seats reupholstered and mechanically refreshed not quite 10 years ago. It has seen little road time since. Recently the car was again mechanically refreshed as needed to prepare for sale and now runs and drives very well. The paint presents nicely with no major flaws; glass and brightwork look nice too. The instrumentation and lighting is in mostly working order. Window lifts operate and the ventilation blower is operating. AC components are in place but no attempt to charge the system has been made. There is plenty of patina in the interior, especially the console, whose veneer has seen better days. This is not a top tier example but it is a solid driver with a straight, rust free body and a healthy powerplant.
The Interceptor is not for everyone. Green new dealers are appalled. Modesty and this car do not mix. You'll never see a "yes man" behind the wheel unless the boss sent him on an errand. This car is burly and a bit brutish yet is at the same time classy and elegant. Above all, its rarity means only a select few will ever own one.
Located in Rowlett, Texas this Interceptor is offered as is where is. If you are reading this ad the car is available for sale. Low ballers, scammers and sales assistant need not apply. No trades, no financing. Call, text or reply.
