For Sale: 1969 Chevrolet Nova in Charlotte, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

When it comes to current automotive trends, nothing's hotter than the pro-touring movement. Pro-touring's exceptional blend of vintage style and modern performance creates undeniable appeal that's changed almost every aspect of the classic car hobby. Sporting an awesome combination of vintage swagger and modern mojo, this sweet Nova follows the pro-touring formula perfectly. The beneficiary of a professional, ground-up restoration, the car has been completely reworked to include a hot LS3 small block, a tough Tremec 6-speed, a full Detroit Speed suspension and traditional, mid-century aesthetics. Want a hot cruiser that utilizes great technology to create an unforgettable driving experience? Check out this killer Chevy II!

PERENNIALLY COOL

Sealed in a rich coat of date-correct Garnet Red two-stage, this slick coupe is the beneficiary of a professional nut-and-bolt restoration that was completed by the pros at Sugarloaf, Pennsylvania's Tony's Muscle Cars. In addition to excellent alignment, the car's brawny body features show worthy aesthetics that are the direct result of new trim, new emblems and fresh chrome bumpers. And those striking details have been carefully married to a collection of surfaces that is much nicer than anything that rolled out of the factory!

The subdued and classy lines of the third-generation Nova are late '60s conservative. And because they're so universal in appeal, they've continued to gain significant popularity. At the front of this Chevy, a stainless-trimmed Super Sport grille centers a bright "SS" emblem between a mirrored bumper, simple lights and a subtle Chevrolet crest. Behind that grille, a handsome Super Sport Hood leads the eye to a tinted greenhouse that's framed in straight stainless, capped in tight vinyl and cleared by Detroit Speed wipers. At the sides of that glass, a conservative profile centers polished bowtie mirrors and traditional GM door handles between wispy fender louvers, stylized marker lamps and tasteful "Nova" scripts. And at the back of the car, two-tone taillights frame a correct Super Sport valance between a requisite trunk emblem and second mirrored bumper.

DISTINCTLY QUICK

Pop the hood and you'll find 6.2 liters of divine GM small block. Officially known as the Chevrolet Performance LS376/480, that trusty engine twists a respectable 495 horsepower into 473 lb./ft. of pavement-slaying torque! At the top of the block, a remote filter element slinks breeze through a polished air tube, which fronts a proven GM throttle body. Trusty GM fuel injection plays well with a GM harness, a GM ECU, a lightweight GM intake and rectangular-port L92-style heads. Factory coils fire fresh GM plug wires. A nodular crank, powdered connecting rods and hypereutectic pistons provide stout 10.7 to 1 compression. A hydraulic roller cam maximizes intake efficiency. Speaking of breathing, that smooth valvetrain funnels spent gases through factory-spec manifolds. There's a beefy Be Cool radiator that's slid between a dressed support and a big puller fan. A billet serpentine drive spins a chromed alternator opposite a chromed AC compressor. And, as you likely deduced from our high-resolution photos, the fresh mill rolls in a smooth, Satin Black frame that's finished with niceties like a Wilwood clutch reservoir, classy Corvette coil covers and a polished The Right Stuff brake booster.

EFFORTLESSLY FUN

Bottom-side, a hydroformed Detroit Speed front-clip backs Detroit Speed power rack-and-pinion steering with adjustable coil-overs and tubular control arms. That clip leads a Detroit Speed QUADRALink rear-half, which backs two more adjustable coil-overs with a beefy sway bar. Behind the LS3, a hydraulic clutch kicks a tough Tremec T56 6-speed, sourced directly from Chevrolet Performance, in front of a 9-inch posi-traction axle. Those bones are shaded by clean, Satin Black floors that have been supplemented with welded subframe connectors. Stopping is a cinch thanks to a quartet of drilled and slotted rotors, which get grabbed by powder-coated Wilwood calipers. Custom, large-diameter exhaust centers an H-shaped crossover in front of throaty turbo mufflers and polished stainless tips. And at the corners of the car, painted American Racing Rally Wheels push 235/45ZR18 General G-MAX in front of 245/45ZR18 General G-MAX.

DECIDEDLY RETRO

Open this Chevy's tight-fitting doors and you'll find a custom leather interior that's stylish, functional and, most importantly, looks like it belongs in a bare knuckle muscle car! Leather-trimmed buckets, sourced from a 2006 GTO, feature full power adjustment for the car's driver and front passenger. A stainless-trimmed dash hangs a full suite of Dakota Digital HDX telemetry above 180 watts of Bluetooth-capable audio and nicely integrated hardware for Vintage Air climate control. A custom console plants switches for modern power windows below a long Hurst shifter that's capped with a snazzy Chevrolet Performance ball. Custom, stainless-trimmed side panels join clean carpet to frame big kick speakers and a billet 'go pedal'. The driver spins an attractive, wood-rimmed wheel around a tilting column. And the passengers store essentials in a custom-upholstered trunk.

Restored, sorted and ready to rock and roll, this Nova is the perfect classic for any muscle car aficionado who enjoys excellent performance and timeless aesthetics. Featuring a stout small block, an updated chassis, an overdrive transmission and a healthy list of great amenities, the car is right at home tackling the turns OR swaying the show. If you've been eyeing the pro-touring movement patiently waiting for a unique, incredibly appealing classic, anticipate no longer!
