Vehicle Description
A mean-looking 4x4 machine with updated V8 power, overdrive
transmission, a custom A/C interior, and plenty of investments to
make it even more unique. That's what you get on this 1958 GMC 100
Restomod 4x4.
The deep Burnt Orange paint is a great way to instantly announce
that this is a truck of distinction (of course, the lifted stance
does that, too.) There's a nice hint of metallic glow that really
lets you see the details of the well-presented sheet metal. And
these Apache-era GMCs are really known for their curves. The
bumpers and grille are covered in durable liner paint that also
makes a nice contrast to the glossy orange on the body. The black
also coordinates with the 18-inch wheels, trim, and trailer hitch
for an almost two-tone feeling. Even the truck bed is finished in
black, and it's lined for rugged duty.
Inside is more of that great orange and black. The two-tone is
intertwined on the dash and door panels for a uniform package. And
we especially like its presentation on the seats with houndstooth
cloth inserts. It tells you they were a little extra thoughtful
setting this truck up. And you can feel it in the quality of the
materials, too, and the way the doors close with confidence. It
also feels nicely equipped with a sports steering wheel, tilt
column, crisp Stewart Warner gauges, tinted windows, and
cold-blowing air conditioning.
The 350 cubic-inch V8 under the hood is certainly more powerful
than anything available in 1958. It inhales deeply with a Holley
four-barrel carburetor, and the V8 exhales with a nice tune out of
the rumbling dual exhaust. There's even an upgraded aluminum
radiator with electric fan to help keep the package running cool.
As you look at the undercarriage photos, you'll understand why this
classic truck can still be so capable today. Because while it's a
GMC 100 on the outside, this has the chassis of a younger K5 4x4.
That means stout 4x4 components that will always be easy to source,
including upgrades that give this the lifted stance and modern
wheels/tires. It also means nice conveniences like power steering,
power brakes, front disc brakes, and a four-speed automatic
transmission w/overdrive.
This is a distinct classic 4x4 with all the right investments and
features. So if you want a vintage look that's also capable, call
today!
