Vehicle Description
1967Chevrolet El Camino SS Tribute
Why This Car Is Special
The El Camino is the Chevy counterpart to the Ford Ranchero and
started its run in 1959. This 72 shares the same front end as the
Chevelle, but gives you the ability to haul or tow.
This particular El Camino Tribute that we have here at Skyway
Classics has been dressed up as a Super Sport with the 396 emblems,
1967 SS hood, and SS badging. A great set of options and a high
performance engine making good power make this car a must add to
your collection.
Mechanical
A 396 cubic inch factory JH code 396-375 horse engine sits under
the SS hood and has been beefed up to over 450 horsepower with the
addition of an aluminum intake, Holley 850 CFM Double Pumper
4-barrel carburetor, aftermarket performance dual scoop ram air
system mated to the factory twin snorkel chrome topped air cleaner
assembly, electric fuel pump, tube headers, black Chevrolet big
block valve covers, and more all sitting in a shiny painted,
detailed, and clean engine bay.
All of that power is backed by an Muncie M-22 4-speed manual "Rock
Crusher" transmission, which is the transmission of choice back
then for all super-high performance cars, for cruisers. The power
is then transferred to a H.D 12-bolt Posi rear end with 4:10 gears,
H.D. Sway bars and shocks, power steering with power disc brakes up
front to provide the stopping power.
It also has a X-pipe dual exhaust system with turbo-type mufflers
running out the back and rides on meaty black wall tires mounted on
Chevrolet Rally wheels with chrome trim rings and caps.
Interior
A like new comfortable black vinyl bench seat seats 3 and has
matching black door panels, black carpet, great stainless and wood
grain dash with all working gauges plus a big-face aftermarket
performance distributor, Chevrolet logo radio system, Chevrolet
logo floor mats, seat belts and wood sport steering wheel. You can
also feel the power steering and power disc front brakes easing
your ride from the driver's seat.
Exterior
Sinister Black paint give this El Camino a tough and mean raked
look. All the body panels are a great fit and all the lines just
exude a muscular look that tells you this SS is a fierce to be
reckoned with.
The bed has been coated with spray as well as it having. Vinyl bed
mat so it can actually be used. Throw your cooler and lawn chairs
in the back and head out to a pregame party, concert or car show
without worrying about scratching the bed.
Conclusion
The 1967 Chevelles and El Caminos are climbing in value and sell
fast. Especially when they look as good as this 1967 El Camino SS
Tribute that we have here at Skyway Classics with it being dressed
up as a Super Sport with the 396 emblems, 1967 SS hood, and SS
badging and having that great L78 engine and drivetrain.
El Caminos are just plain cool. Is it a car or a truck? Is it a
muscle car? Is it a good investment?
Yes, to all those questions.
