The SL derives from the German Sport-Leight (Sport Light) and has
been built by Mercedes Benz since 1954 and is now in its sixth
generation. The third generation was one of the longest built which
was for nearly twenty tears from 1971 through 1989 and were
internally known as the 107 series. As you can imagine it was
offered with a variety of engine options through that time as
technology changed. This particular gorgeous 560 is one of the
final years offered and had the largest displacement engine
offered. It is also one of the most sought after SL's of the era
because Mercedes had managed to fix some of the troublesome fuel
management issues by then. This car is finished in red over tan
with a dark tan convertible top and matching hard-top. The interior
is all original and shows good with some slight fading on the
seats. The car has a clean carfax and a recent nearly $2,000
service taking care of new fuel pumps. Has the original owners
manual and key. Other than the soft top having a small 3" slice,
cosmetically the car shows very nice. This SL also starts, runs and
drives down the road very nicely. Give us a call with any
questions.
