Vehicle Description
This 1981 Chevrolet C10 Scottsdale is a classic V8 pickup that's
got a terrific custom style on the outside and a comfy A/C
interior. But what you'll really love is the more recent
investments that also give it a powerful stroker V8, overdrive
transmission, and four-wheel disc brakes to make this two-tone
classic a true cruiser.
Just the paint alone makes this pickup stand out from the crowd.
The original two-tone Midnight Black and gray has been updated for
a higher gloss and shine that surpasses what came from the factory
without losing its classic feeling. Of course, it also helps that
the big chrome bumpers and boxy body have the kind of super
straight appearance that shows there has been a careful investment
all around this truck. But what makes this one truly attractive is
where it deviates from the factory recipe. The bold billet grille
with the blacked-out bow-tie; the wide oval chrome exhaust tips;
and those unmistakably intricate 22-inch Panther polished wheels
with painted red stripes. All of it gives this vintage truck a nice
touch of aggression that blurs the line between pickup and custom
muscle car.
The interior keeps it quite stock and fresh. The condition of the
seat, dash, and trim have the unmistakable feel of fresher than
new, but they have the right factory look - right down to the
pleats across the bench seat. And we love how the hint of red on
the wheels was a preview of all the red inside. The knob-style
Delco AM/FM radio feels cool as you tune in to your favorite
stations, and the factory air conditioning is blowing cold (now
with R-134a refrigerant so you can service it easily.) And while
this has a great classic cruiser feel, the upgraded sports steering
wheel and billet shift handle signal that there's something nice
for you under the hood.
We have a receipt from 2016 showing over $27k invested in this
truck, and the heart of that was about making it a great driver's
truck. It starts with a polished show-ready powerhouse. This 383
cubic-inch stroker V8 not only gives you a big block displacement
in a small block weight, but it also has been upgraded for even
more performance. It includes ATK aluminum heads, a Quick Fuel
four-barrel carburetor, high-rise intake, and Dougs long tube
headers feeding into the dual exhaust. And it's supported by the
right pieces, like a serpentine belt system, March aluminum
brackets, and an aluminum radiator with an electric fan. The
transmission has been upgraded to a 700R4 four-speed automatic by
Hughes Performance. That means you have a stout construction that
can handle the power while also giving you overdrive cruising
whenever you want. Power steering and modern performance tires make
for a better driver. And the upgrade to a Wilwood four-wheel power
disc brake system gives you the added confidence you want to go
with all the added power.
The sale comes complete with the owner's manual, component manuals,
