Vehicle Description
You don't even have to be a pony fan to take notice of this one.
After all, there's just something instantly alluring about a 1966
Ford Mustang 2+2 fastback that has the unmistakable shine that
comes from a serious investment. And once you look beyond the
paint, you'll see plenty of power under the hood and the added
control of a five-speed. So yes, this car is just as cool as its
first impression.
The deep purple paint looks absolutely awesome. It's one of those
quality applications where the deep shine just loves to show off
the crisp lines of the sheet metal. And that's exactly what you
want on a car like this because after all, the fastback is truly an
iconic pony car that you're going to want to showcase. But this one
is also putting its mean attitude on display. There's a full
blackout package that's even darker than purple. It starts with a
set of distinct matte black racing stripes painted over the top.
The side louver windows and rear panel were painted to match. Add
in the blackout grille and back inserts on the 15-inch American
Racing wheels, and you have a very well-coordinated dark side.
Plus, this goes for added distinction with custom speedy elements
like a Shelby-inspired hood scoop and the engine callouts
airbrushed on the front fender.
The color theme is swapped for the interior where black is now
dominant and the purple returns to accent the door and dash. The
seats, door panels, dash pad, and carpeting all have the look and
feel of quality. You'll also appreciate details like the fold-down
rear seat. This was built to be a driver's car, and so you have the
right vintage features like front bucket seats and a thin/grippy
steering wheel. Added to this as a handy duo of a large AutoMeter
Autogage tach and a Hurst floor shifter.
The V8 has a clean look and worthwhile polished components, like
the Monte Carlo bar and Ford Motorsports valve covers. At the
center is Ford's mighty 351 cubic-inch V8. Not only is it a larger
motor than what they offered in '66, but this has been enhanced
further with go-fast goodies like a Holley four-barrel carburetor,
Edelbrock intake, and Hooker headers that feed the rumbling X-pipe
dual exhaust. It also has the right supporting components, like an
aluminum radiator, electric fan, steel braided line w/AN fittings,
a Mallory Unilite distributor, and an Optima red top battery
relocated to the trunk for better weight distribution. Best of all,
the upgraded T5 five-speed manual transmission gives you full
control over the enhanced V8 and its thunderous soundtrack. In
fact, this custom Mustang is all about letting you feel control and
the road. That's why you have a thick sway bar up front, subframe
connectors, traction bars, and front disc brakes.
You already this is one of the coolest fastbacks around, and it
could all be yours tomorrow if you call today!
