Vehicle Description
1964 Chevrolet C-10 Custom Truck
Why This Car Is Special
The C/K line of trucks of which the C10 was included, was Chevrolet
and GMC's full -size pickup truck line from 1960 until 2000 in the
United States. The first Chevrolet pickup truck was introduced in
1924, though in-house designs did not appear until 1930. "C"
indicated two-wheel drive and "K" indicated four-wheel drive.
We have a restored 1964 Chevrolet truck here at Skyway Classics
that has a lot of originality but has a few more modern touches too
and has had a 5-year old comprehensive restoration and repainted a
stunning Bronze Basecoat with Clearcoat.
Mechanical
Our 1964 cam from the factory with a 230 cubic inch inline-six
which was more than adequate for the job back then, and we believe
that it is still there, nicely detailed and looking almost factory
fresh backed by a 3-speed manual transmission.
Chevy used light blue on truck engines but ours has been redone in
bright red and while most of the visible parts are too with the
addition of the chrome open element air cleaner. It has manual
steering and brakes as well as a new gas tank too.
It has a very crisp, well-detailed look overall and has the single
exhaust system that gives it the right 6-cylinder grumble. It rides
on blackwall radials on body color matching steel wheels with
chrome trim rings and hubcaps.
Interior
The interior is all changed with a body-colored copper and tan
interior with black fold-down bucket seats, center console, custom
dash with all gauges and newer AM/FM stereo radio system, manual
transmission, new tan and copper painted door panels, new tan
carpet with a rubber insert under the pedals, rosewood steering
wheel on a tilt billet column, and much more.
The step side bed is great looking with its wood slat inserts in
its painted side boards and tailgate.
Exterior
Our C10 has been painted a great bronze base coat clear coat shade
which looks nice all over the truck body and is offset by the grey
painted top.
The workmanship was careful to keep it looking authentic and it
looks right on the vintage sheet metal. Note that this is an
unusual stepside with those wonderfully curved rear fenders but a
bed big enough to carry just about anything home.
It still has that honest, hard-working look that only vintage
trucks like this can earn, but you can also show up at the local
cruise night in it and more than a few folks will give it an
approving nod.
Conclusion
This 1964 Chevy C10 restored truck we have here at Skyway Classics
has a lot of originality but has a few more modern touches too and
it is a certain trophy anywhere you drive her, as well as
dependable enough to drive anywhere.
Come see her soon.
