The Dodge Caravan (and the long-wheelbase Dodge Grand Caravan) is a series of minivans that was produced by Chrysler. It was produced from the 1984 to 2020 model years and was offered as both a passenger van and a cargo van. The short-wheelbase Caravan was introduced alongside the Plymouth Voyager in 1983 and was marketed as the Dodge version of the Chrysler minivans. The long-wheelbase Dodge Grand Caravan was offered alongside the Plymouth Grand Voyager as well as the Chrysler Town & Country and in production from 1987 to 2020. Produced for five generations across 36 model years, Caravan is the longest-lived Dodge nameplate (six years longer than 1980-2009 Dodge Ram). Although sold primarily in the United States and Canada, the Dodge Caravan was also marketed in Europe and other international markets as the Chrysler Voyager and Chrysler Caravan. In North America, a slightly modified and rebadged version of the Grand Caravan was marketed between 2009 and 2014 by Volkswagen as the Volkswagen Routan. A cargo van version was sold by Ram Trucks as the Ram C/V Tradesman. Since their introduction in late 1983, over 14.6 million Chrysler minivans have been sold worldwide (including export versions and versions sold through rebranding).
