1949 ushered in a brand new design era for Ford. Gone were the
"pontoon" fenders and extended bumpers, replaced by the smooth
sculpted design which quickly took on the "shoebox" nickname. This
design continued thru 1951 and was one of the most popular
platforms for street customs of all types.
This bright blue 1950 Custom Club Coupe is a great example of
keeping traditions alive. Whitewall tires, fenders skirts, blue dot
tail lamps, stainless wheel rings and the traditional windshield
sun shade combine to keep alive a period that has extended well
into todays designs.
