Vehicle Description
With styling from designer Harley Earl, this 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air
is finished in factory-specified code 793 Onyx Black over code 683
red and silver upholstery. This top-of-the-line 1957 Chevrolet Bel
Air convertible is the product of a total frame-off, rotisserie
restoration completed in 2015. Maintained in show-quality under
collector care ever since, it features a deep, professionally
applied, color-sanded and buffed paint finish, with expert body
preparation and proper panel gaps throughout. The Bel Air-specific
exterior trim items were restored or replaced and continue to look
great overall. The red and silver two-tone vinyl upholstery is
Trim-Tag correct and remains fresh with few signs of use.
Instruments are fully operational, interior brightwork is excellent
and the steering wheel is restored. The correct FC-code 283ci V8
engine was rebuilt about 2,500 miles ago, highly detailed with
correct finishes, parts and components, and sports the 4-barrel
dual exhaust Power Pack. A Powerglide 2-speed automatic
transmission and 3.23:1 rear end deliver the power. The underbody
and chassis are as impressive as the rest of the vehicle, with the
suspension and brakes rebuilt and the floors finished in more
attractive glossy black paint. A new white power convertible top
stows under a red top-boot cover. Accessories include dual decklid
antennae, fender skirts and dual side mirrors. The correctly
finished trunk includes a rubber mat, full-sized spare tire and
correct jack assembly with instruction card. Correct 14-inch steel
wheels mount bright spinner hubcaps and period-style 7.50-14
BFGoodrich Silvertown wide whitewall tires. Included in Hemmings
Classic Cars July 2021 cover page and seven-page article!
