SERVICED, DETAILED & READY TO ENJOY First used in 1958, Chevrolets
Impala nameplate continues to signify outstanding style, luxury,
and value today. Following the more flamboyantly styled models
built through 1964, the full-size Chevy line was totally restyled
with smartly tailored bodylines that looked exactly right on the
119-inch wheelbase chassis. Proportions were excellent, with GMs
designers somehow making the big Chevrolets look trim and visually
smaller than their generous overall dimensions might have
suggested. In addition to their handsome looks, the new Chevrolets
featured a wide array of available engines and power teams, plus
the GM divisions amazing list of factory-available features,
options, and amenities. Another Chevrolet big-car advantage was
performance and adaptability to select modifications as desired,
providing a stylish and sporty automotive choice to buyers
requiring good passenger space and comfort. The basic 1965 Impala
design would continue for 1966 with only select styling updates
deemed necessary. Buyers agreed, with the entire 1965 Impala line
chalking up strong sales of 654,900 cars in total. The Impala
Convertible was an important part of that success, offering
glamorous open-air style for only around $3,000. As when new, the
1965-66 Impala remains highly sought-after by collectors and Chevy
enthusiasts today. This 1966 Chevrolet Impala Convertible is a very
well-preserved survivor with under 71,500 indicated miles.
According to recent paint-meter readings performed at The Last
Detail, it retains the factory-original Black paint finish, or the
overwhelming majority of the original paint. The interior is highly
original to match, trimmed in Blue vinyl with a front bench seat.
According to the original selling dealer-issued Protect-O-Plate
warranty card, this Impala is powered by the original, numbers
matching 283 CI V-8 engine developing 195 factory-rated horsepower.
The Impalas fun-to-drive factor is heightened by the 4-speed manual
transmission and the rare dash-mounted factory tachometer. In
addition to a power convertible top and AM radio, the Impala also
features a dual exhaust and power front disc brakes. A full-size
spare wheel/tire resides within the Impalas trunk compartment.
