Vehicle Description
2003 Chevrolet Corvette 50th Anniversary
The 2003 model Corvette marked one of the brand's biggest and most
historic milestones...the 50th Anniversary of the first Corvette
produced in 1953. There was a specific 50th Anniversary color
scheme, (not black), but all colors were specially marked for the
milestone year.
For consignment, a 2003 version of America's sports car. This
example has low actual miles, 10,462, and has a nice set of options
attached. A 2-owner car from the start to now, well cared for like
a favorite toy after playing, and put away neatly for the next
time!
Exterior
Nicely worked fenders, sides and top panels work together to form
this model, which does some harkening back to 50 years ago in its
design. Mainly with the "Corvette Cove" in the front quarter
eventually moving to the rear and dying into the doors. All this
sculpted aero slip stream design fiberglass is bathed in
Anniversary Red. Hidden headlights, a swept back windscreen and a
Shale canvas convertible top keep the look flowing just right. Just
below the curved rear glass and trunk deck, the round taillights
have gone oval, and the quad of shiny exhaust exits in the center
of the rear roll pan. 17 inch 5 spoke warm nickel painted aluminum
wheels and badging denoting the 50-year run for this America's
sports car.
Interior
Plenty of wow factor and an interior to brighten your Anniversary
Red exterior day, we see beautifully curved door panels with plenty
of molded Shale gray colored plastic and some black panels
surrounding the power button features on the doors. Moving inside,
50th Anniversary leather seat coverings in Shale vented leather
inserts and smooth leather exterior bolsters surrounding the
inserts await your presence and look forward to having your person
pushed back into them when pressing the accelerator! On their
headrests a 50 with crossed flags is embroidered within. Molded
shale vinyl covers the hump, and seamlessly melts upward into the
dash. Here we see a heads-up display, headlight sentinel,
telescoping steering column, and a remote 12 CD changer at your
beck and call. Shale gray carpeting, nice and clean, is flooding
the floors. In back of the buckets another harken back to the 60's
this time, with the dual eyebrow curved fiberglass tonneau covering
with a vertical covered fiberglass storage lid between the seats.
Groovy.
Drivetrain
A lift of the feather light hood, and we see a 5.7 liter LS1 V8
mill with EFI. On back a T56 6-speed manual transmission is seen,
along with 3.42 gears for the limited slip axle. This car offers
magnetic ride control and is shown with an original factory exhaust
for the exhale.
Undercarriage
As expected the undercarriage of this car is solid as a rock.
Plenty of cast aluminum suspension parts, stainless steel exhaust
and solid aluminum floor pans as well as nary a drip or road dirt
splatter seen. Suspension is ALS, (short long arm), double wishbone
cast aluminum upper and lower control arms, transverse mounted
composite spring and a mono-tube shock absorber. Power disc brakes
are on all 4 corners. A marvel of engineering and ground effects
usage. Power disc brakes for the woah! factor.
Drive-Ability
A quick starter, wonderful accelerator, excellent handling, and
quick braking as well as all functions working as they should be
which leads to a fun ride. I took extra laps just to be sure all
was OK!...and it was. And the top was of course in the down
position. One of the perks of the job.
A 2003 version with the added Anniversary trim along with all the
other factory added on goodies, and this is all buttoned up to go
fast, and carve curvy back roads kinda car. Hop in this low miles
machine and make it yours, just see it in our main showroom before
it goes away. Corvettes are HOT right now so you better not
hesitate, if you snooze you may lose. What a way to celebrate 50
years!
