FATHOM FAITHFUL
An authentic big block Super Sport that began its life harvesting
pinks in the Garden State, this spirited pony car recently
benefitted from a detailed rotisserie restoration that left it
clean, mean and ready to slay streets! During that precise reboot,
solid sheetmetal was massaged into great alignment, layered in
correct Fathom Green two-stage and streaked with traditional Hockey
Stripes. And today, one close look at our high-resolution photos
reveals a handsome payoff in the form of one exceptional Chevrolet
muscle car!
In a world of lightning quick showroom specials and lights out
resto-mods, traditionalism has become a tough line to hold. But
anyone who casts even a passing glance at this monochromatic
monster would have a hard time arguing that this isn't EXACTLY the
way an old school Motor City brute should look! At the front of the
car, a menacing grille hangs a timeless "SS" badge between clear
headlights, clear parking lamps and a polished bumper that shades a
sporty D80 spoiler. Above that grille, a Camaro-branded header
leads a correct Super Sport Hood. At the sides of that hood, a
sculpted profile cants optional quarter louvers behind polished
door handles, pointed rocker guards and ornate Camaro badging. At
the top of those doors, a polished mirror reflects a crisp
greenhouse, which stacks tight Black vinyl on straight stainless,
body-matched drip rails and polished wipers. And at the back of the
car, a Satin Black Super Sport valance hangs textured taillights
and a fourth bright "SS" emblem between a classy Camaro trunk
script and a second polished bumper that's optioned with correct
guards.
EXCLUSIVE POWER
If you know bowtie history, you know that only 4,889 of all 206,837
1969 Camaros were gifted with Chevrolet's lethal L78 396. These
cars were the true performers of the Camaro world, often screaming
up dragstrips and beating their way through daily stoplight
squabbles. It has been proficiently restored with a L78-spec big
block and a tough Muncie 4-speed. A precise combination of oxygen
and fuel enters the rowdy mill's combustion chambers through a
polished air cleaner, stainless fluid lines and a correct LIST 4346
Holley 4 barrel. Below that carb, a sea of brilliant Chevy Orange
paint covers the block from its correct Winters intake all the way
to its stamped steel oil pan. At the back of that intake, a
reliable points distributor shoots spark through eight Packard TV R
Suppression cables. A beefy COMP cam turns that fire into big
compression. Familiar iron heads hide solid lifters between
polished valve covers and restored exhaust manifolds. In front of
those tubes, tight belts spin a rebuilt alternator and a factory
smog pump. A Delco-topped battery complements a big radiator that's
cinched to pliable GM hoses via tight tower clamps. Those
components are, in traditional fashion, seated in a slick, Satin
Black frame. And that pigment is dotted with world class detailing,
like a correct stamps and a fresh brake booster.
AS IT WERE
Under this impressive F-Body you'll find a fully sorted chassis
that, like the car's glossy exterior and lust worthy engine, has
been restored to very high standards. The car's date-correct big
block spins a date-correct Muncie 4-speed which, in-turn, twists a
requisite 12-bolt axle. That stellar drivetrain pushes a virtually
spotless suspension, which compliments old school manual steering
with astute power front disc and rear drum brakes. Aluminized
exhaust crawls through a correct transverse muffler. And power
meets the pavement through stylish Super Sport Wheels, which twist
F70-14 Goodyear Polyglas Custom Wide Treads around stainless trim
rings and "SS" center caps.
TIMELESS DIGS
The Standard Black Interior hiding behind this Camaro's Fathom
Green doors is a correct factory affair that, over 50 years after
its debut, is still both stylish and cool! Short bucket seats ride
fade-free carpet. A factory console founds a polished Hurst shifter
behind a quartet of era-correct accessory gauges. In front of that
stick, a monochromatic dash hangs a clean radio delete beneath
rebuilt factory telemetry. That seat, dash and console trifecta is
cased in a tight headliner and Standard side panels. And the driver
spins a satin, "SS" branded steering wheel.
If you're ready to experience a car that puts the "C" in CLASSIC,
